The great Deftones is called 'Adrenaline'...Seen them a few times, met Stephan and Chino on their first tour supporting 'Around the Fur'...Chino is a straight dick, Stephan was talkin about it with a friend of mine, and then I met the dude 45 minutes later. I asked him if wanted to go burn one and he yelled "No drugs or alcohol for me, thanks!", no big deal except for the cops parked 20yds away...Loved hearin 'Engine No9' in 'Law Abiding Citizen' when he stuck that dude in the neck with the T-bone....

I could have responded in the "Old music thats new to you thread". I've just started listening to them...I've got Saturday Night Wrist in my car and I've been spinning it a few times to get a feel for it. I like it.

'Wrist' is very different than their previous albums IMO... I like it, but it's more "ethereal" than the others... their previous works, particularly 'Around the Fur' which is my favorite, are a lot harder.

I've heard a few other songs from other albums and I see what you mean. I'll get around to those I'm sure. hard is good.

I got into them when they only had Adrenaline out, got Around the Fur the day it was released as I did with White Pony, too. I tried and tried to get into Pony, but it just didnt do anyhting for me. After that I was pretty much done with them, except for the the first 2 CDs, which I still listen to regularly. The best song on Fur is the secret one 36 minutes into the final track, and Adrenaline is awesome beginning to end...Dont let the seashell fool yous...

  • 2 months later...

Just got the new album on pre-order in the mail tonight... only listened to it briefly but it sounds really good. Track #2, 'Royal' rocks. More on it tomorrow when I listen more...

It is not like 'Saturday Night Wrist"... it's more like their previous work.

    • i presented this in another thread. he throws better to the out breaking routes the wr run, but almost nothing to the inside. that is half the options on a wr route tree. How do you run an offense like that?  even the outbreaking routes he throws are moonballs, that allow the DBs to catch up unless the wr is wide open. he has to throw with a lot of anticipation becuase he doesnt have the arm strenght to get it there if he is a little late. thats probably why you see balls behind the wrs.
