With RFA tenders as opposed to new deals going out to the likes of Davis and Moore it's time to step up in free Agency and grab some talent for our roster.

Kevin Walter, come on down. NFL Free Agents, we've got some of what you want in Carolina, keep us high on your list.

I like the idea of signing Kevin Walter. My worry, though, would be the old "Alvin Harper" syndrome. That being that a guy who looks great across from a world class receiver might not look so good in a number one role elsewhere.

With that said, we have a star receiver and we need a guy like Walter. Throw in that he's considered a very good blocker for a WR too. Maybe it would be like having Patrick Jeffers back.

Can't do it. You have to have a first round pick this year (per PFT).

We could only get Marshall if we negotiated lower compensation, which probably isn't likely. Add in the character issues he's had and overall I doubt we'll go that route.

When did he look all that good in Houston?

He's done pretty well as a number two, and is sort of a Patrick Jeffers type or a larger version of Wes Welker, if you prefer.

With all that said, while I like the idea of signing him I don't know if he's all we'd need. Bringing him in means Smith is still the number one, and Smith himself believes that should be someone else at this point.

He had 30 more yards and 1 more TD than Moose in a much more dynamic pass offense.

I guess that's doing well.

Moose is at the end of his career, Walter 28.

Anyway, agree or disagree spending one of our limited picks on a WR might not pay immediate dividends this year due to the learning curve WR's often face.

A WR we can plug in and go with game 1 would be a big asset, especially if we have him locked up before the draft and can make selections accordingly.

      Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.

      I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.

      Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
