pretty great. it made our oc accountable. weve been in the bottom 10 of the NFL offenses except being #15 once since 2004. cutler has set records for our franchise despite playing behind a poor oline, unpolished wr's, a terrible oc.

this yr under martz is going to be much better. not to mention since benching orlando pace last season and plugging in our 2008 1st round pick where he belongs at LT our oline played better and we also beat Minn.

Oh btw, Peppers played great against Minn. for you guys. Looking forward to him playing them, GB's horrid Oline, and the Lions 2x a yr. Peppers is gonna have a phenominal yr playing in our division. Plus we get Urlacher back. 4/7 of our front 7 are probowlers. 2 of them are All decade players now. We'll be good this year. Our D will be stout again and our Oline will imrpove under Mike Tice.

We will at least be 10-6.

Was one of those records INT's. Doubt it, its not like the Bears have had a shortage or turnover prone QB's.

Peppers played great against Minn. because it was primetime. You'll see about Peppers come soon enough. I love it how someone who has watch a player for a few highlight plays or games can try to argue with someone has watch every snap he has made his entire career. I'm not arguing that he can't be dominate merrily that he is not worth all the hype or money he gets.

I still don't get where Bears fans think that can just keep him for one year if it don't work out when he is guaranteed 3 year 40 million. I guess they could tell him bye and gim him 40 million. So I wonder how that is going to work when there is a cap year which what they are saying they sould be next year and 20% of the money is going to one player. Hell a few years back we lost jenkins to the jets because we didn't have money for them both. Peps is a hell of a player but a team is not won by one guy. We had him when we didn't have to pay him that much and still didn't win a super bowl so I hope the bears can maybe this year but next year if there is a cap you will see what carolina fans have already see. One good guy on one side of the field don't make up for 4 half ass good guys all over the field. Next year who is the bears going to have to get rid of because of this big contacts. and the bad think is if you do good this year and don't make it to the Sb you draft is going to suck like hell to next year and the year after. I think everyone here will agree we love to have peps on our side next year and the years to come but not the that amount of money. We have alot of young players because of peppers BUT THANK GOD JAKE IS GOING NOW STEVE SMITH CAN BE SUPER SMITH THAT WE ALL COME TO LOVE. And with the two head monster I still think we got a shot with out Peps GO PANTHERS

The Panthers offered him more days before...

I don't know what you are reading but I read that pepper was mad because the panthers didn't even make a offer before they told him their not going to F-Tag him. They made offer last year and a few in the season. I sure if you read that it was more that was just hear say probably put out by his manager to get team to offer him more. Because if the panthers offer him more I am sure the bears would have matched it.:reddevil:

I'm sorry if you havent read the article but it is out there I have read it and discussed it with other people here and they have also read it and discussed it both here and elsewhere furthermore I remember hearing it discussed on the local sports talk radio station 610 and remember seeing and hearing it discussed on ESPN or one of those sports stations it might have been a different one I dont know but I know that like 2 or 3 days prior to the Bears signing him the Panthers made a last ditch effort to sign him and did in fact offer him a contract that totalled more than what the Bears eventually signed him for only 2 or 3 days later I cant believe you never heard or saw it maybe you prefer to not remember it as it is surely painful and depressing to think about

Here are two aricles about what carolina thought about peps and there is another one that I can' find right now.

Where Peppers manager was saying that peps was upset about not hearing anything from the Panthers before the deadline. That they didn't even come up with a offer. go to www.carolinapanthers.com and read the news in march and Feb

    • Hello, soccer fans [crickets, tumbleweed flies by]. The World Cup kicks off in less than 2 weeks and, well, 🇺🇸USA USA USA🇺🇸 and all. We beat Senegal 3-2 yesterday in a tune-up friendly at BoA, with Christian Pulisic finally entering the scoring column.  How will we do in the World Cup once our tournament kicks off on the 12th? Well, there are 48 teams (assuming Iran is there) and it feels like one of two thing happens: we get grouped for the first time since '98, or we make it to the Round of 16 for the third time in the last four World Cups. I tried out the lottery for an Atlanta game and struck out, so yesterday was as World Cup as I'll get for in-person ($285/ticket for like Norway vs $39/ticket for USMNT right beforehand was a layup).  The U.S. has a travel-heavy schedule in group play, playing in LA, Seattle and LA. Real road warrior mentality being built. Glad the east coast gets worse kickoff times for a NA World Cup than a Qatar World Cup.
    • Well, that's the thing. Drafting players only for their physical measurables as you are suggesting only really happened during 2024, and X unfortunately has become the poster child for that. To be clear, it's not necessarily about drafting RAS over skill, but RAS over NFL-readiness and/or a solid body of work. Lots of players show skill in college, but those skills don't necessarily translate to the NFL for a multitude of reasons. But, getting back to the main point, to be clear, I believe that our FO is still enamored with physical gifts (who wouldn't be?), but now they're letting Dr. Eric Eager's proprietary system--his "secret sauce" prioritize the players that the Panthers draft, and it seems like it weighs not only a solid body of work, relative to a college career of course, but consistent gradual improvement as evidenced by production pretty highly.
    • Its a good article about how pathetically bad our past drafts ('23 and '24) have been. Building the team in '23 since we weren't ready yet and taking your qb in '24 made so much more sense in hindsight. Ladd McConkey over XL is pretty much a given but not sure it does as much to change Bryce's trajectory as the author suggests.  As bad as '23 and '24 drafts were, the '25 and '26 really give me hope.
