The Demonstration covers Lady Gaga

I always wondered from the legal standpoint.

Dont you have to pay to cover someones song?

If your making money off of it, yes. You have to pay whoever owns the rights to the songs. For instance, one of my old bands did a cover of Kay's Choice "Not an Addict" for a benefit disc some number of years ago. We had to pay about $2,000 to use the song. Even though we weren't the ones making the money, we wanted to use the song and didn't mind being the ones paying for it.

As for these guys, Lady GaGa her/his-self has publicly supported their version, so I assume they paid her some funds. The guy who owns the record label they're on also does KillWhitneyDead (a band that relies on absurd ammounts of movie samples) so I imagine he knows a thing or two about intellectual property laws.

    • There is quote from Canales somewhere when we hired him.  He was blunt he isn't some creative mind.  He was going to come in here and do X......and that was going to be closer to Foxball than anything we have seen.   And that largely has held true.   It's why he REALLY needs that Jake Delhomme type.  Baker was that.  The downfield gunslinger.   Big plays exist in his O.   You need a gambling QB to go make them downfield.  Bryce pulled the trigger once this week.  But he is just bad at it.  It was that Tmac deep ball that ended up being a PI.  Tmac had his dude beat.  That was the homerun ball this O sets up.   But Bryce underthrew it.  Tmac had to slam on the breaks and come to a full stop and wait for it.    Those just aren't Bryce's throws.    Sure we got the PI.  Some might celebrate that aspect.  But that throw highlights Bryce doesn't make those throws well.  Your WR shouldn't have to come to a complete stop and wait....when he has the guy clearly beat for the over the top play.  That's what the entire thing sets up.  Bryce rarely takes the shot.  When he does, it's generally not a great ball.
    • Sorry to hear that man. Keep that chin up, Panthers aren't worth taking up any headspace. You got this
    • Kinda of like when Hurney went on a GM search as a consultant and the best candidate he found was himself, lol!
