Game 68: Bobcats@Hawks

The Bobs are in ATL tonight to face division rival Atlanta Hawks. This is another huge game for us and could be a preview of a 1st round series between the two teams. The Hawks are led by all star Joe Johnson (who is a game time decision with an achilles injury), Josh Smith, Al Horford, and Sixth Man Of The Year candidate Jamal Crawford. They are a long athletic team that plays very well at home. Tonight we get G-Force back after sitting out the past week with an injury. We will need a huge game from him, as well as Jax, and our bench guys to steal this one. The Hawks on a Friday night in ATL is not an easy game, but we need to continue to put pressure on the teams chasing us in the playoff race. GO BOBCATS!!!

I haven't been able to watch any Bobcat games, but I'm going to go out and find an online stream for this one tonight. You do a good job with these threads KT and you've slowly gotten me pumped up about the Bobcats and watching the NBA in general.

no no no no, F U

:D

Nothing comes between me and NCAA Ball. Although I am watching the Cats game cause there ain't no good games on right now.

None of them are going to be "good".

NCAA sucks this year. In a normal year, this pathetic dook team wouldn't be anywhere near the top 5.

It doesn't suck this year, this has been one of the best tournys in a while.

Anyway, Cats need to go on a little run here.

"Competitive" games to me doesn't equal good.

College basketball this year is as pathetic as almost every thing else these days. It's no where near as good as it used to be, just because most of the teams are equally bad, which makes the games competitive.

I repeat. This pathetic dook team wouldn't even be sniffing the top 5 in a normal season.

    • I'll say 6. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition and will do more to help the defense than anyone. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole there. For all the hype surrounding Sanders and Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
    • 2010 was worse. Not much worse but worse.
    • Lol since 2017 the Panthers are 47-85,    Also since 2017 the Giants are 40-91-1   Lol
