There's not much to recommend to fans of Dexter. Everything else is gonna seem kind of shallow. Most everything that could be brought up is dead, like Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Rome...

HBO's Song of Ice and Fire might rule the world next March tho. That's definitely a show to keep your eye on.

Most serial dramas just aren't fleshed out enough for me.

On a related note, Julie Benz is playing a bitch stripper on Desperate Housewives sometime or another. Not that I care, I hate the bitch.

Thats irrelevant to me though. I'll just get it through Netflix or something and watch it. Dexter is one of the very few shows I've watched as it's been released.

Lost is the only other current show I keep up with. To me the transition between seasons 1 and 2 has been the high point. It hasn't been anywhere near that good since :( But I'm committed to finishing it and there's another topic for this complaining lol

Been watching the Tudors...I am shocked it just made mention above. Its more of a drama though, not much violence. However there is some decent nudity to mention.

I could not get through the first seasons of...Madmen, Weeds, and Six Feet Under. I think that I may get bored easily. When I hear that a show is great, I have high expectations of it. If the first couple episodes start off slow, I usually drop it by episode #5 or 6.

Netflix is such a great concept and if you either (A) enjoy tv and (B) have the time to sit down and watch tv, then Netflix is the way to go.

I recently downgraded the Premium package from Direct Tv (all the channels) because I don't watch all those movie channels regualry. I found that I was DVRing everything I wanted to see. Netflick is $8 a month, the premium channels were costing me over $60.

i still remember it like yesterday. I was sick as hell and finally decided to get well. Bored out of my mind, i began looking for something to watch on the tv. I already dont care for 99.45% of tv has to offer and was going for a old reliable in Penn & Teller BS on showtime. no dice, hmmm whats this, dexter.....(reads the infor).... hits play. No other show hooked me like that form the start. It hit me like a 1,000 suns on all sort of levels(bonus I was HEAVY medicined).

Became I instant fan(which is rare for me), before it hit the masses. Oddly I only watched season 1, tried watching season 2, it just suck. I hated the direction in which it was going. I highly recommend season 1, all the others suck and soon lost its favor as more and more tuned in. After season1, i may have only watch 4 episodes of the other seasons total. Just hated what it became...

I don't think there's a whole lot of violence on Dexter either. A little blood, a little stabby stab...but that's about it.

If it weren't for the scripting and high tension, I wouldn't like Dex anywhere near as much.

I heard the novels suck though.

I read the first 2 books they were amazing. i could not put them down. i am having a hard time getting into the third book. but the first 2 are awsome.:cool:
