PFT Update: Bills and Raiders have expressed interest. Rams are rumored, but no verification.

McNabb trade talk heats up

Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Bills and the Raiders have inquired regarding McNabb's availability. Per Robinson, McNabb would favor a trade to a team with a contending roster, like the Cardinals.

Also, persistent rumors have been making the rounds of the Eagles trading McNabb to the Rams for the first pick in the second round of the 2010 draft.

That rumor heated up today, as Mike Missanelli of 97.5 The Fanatic in Philly was discussing it on the air. He eventually pointed out that Chris Mortensen of ESPN had informed him via text that he had checked out the story with both parties, and that there's nothing to it.

rumors of McNabb/Samuel/Asomugha deal

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/03/25/first-rumbles-of-mcnabb-to-raiders-trade-terms-emerge/

Raiders would get Donovan McNabb and CB Asaunte Samuel, and the Eagles would get CB Nnamdi Asomugha. Sheldon Brown would take Samuel's spot, and Nnamdi would be the #1 CB. would be a huge trade if it actually happens.

  • 2 weeks later...

Think that if Kolb or whoever will be the starting Eagles QB is and they don't play well, they will kick themselves in the rear for trading McNabb!

They won't be kicking themselves :nonod:

They won't be able to. Eagle fans will be doing it for them.

    • I am not sure it should be a ‘sell out to go to the SB’ season. And hope they don’t.  At the same time I was thinking you absolutely must find out if you want to pay for Bryce or not. That means putting it on him. No protecting and trying to hide weaknesses with the run game and a super conservative calls.  So I wish they would do it and find out, win or lose, 2026. No more developing. Time to do it. Let’s see once and for all.
    • My biggest fear with Bryce Young is that he will always do just enough to stick around. He shows flashes and then drops a turd so the hopium is always there. Like his career highlight reel if you cut it up to some hype music and did a YouTube video would actually be quite good. His great plays really, really look good. But after that video you look at his yearly averages for completion percentage, yardage, touchdowns, and virtually every other metric and it is meh as fug. Like you know Bryce is gonna be 13/23 for 157 yards a touchdown and probably a pick.  I will 100% give him his flowers for his athleticism and ability to scramble outside the pocket. I haven’t seen the mythical “super processing ability” he was touted for per se, but he has shown flashes of absolutely elite awareness when it comes to scrambling. The little basketball move he does to shake defensive linemen has almost become a signature move. It’s hard to explain but you know it when you see it he stops on a dime and pivots like he is gonna hit a step back jumper and it has gotten him out of a lot of trouble.  I sincerely, truly, as a vocal Bryce HATER, hope that since we are obviously running with him next year the coaching staff actually tailors plays around his strengths. He needs to be in a pure spread IMO. His size is much less of a hindrance when he can play QB in open space. I feel like most of his highlight reel is from scrambles and play action/bootlegs.
