Is there a WR in the 2nd that is better than Brandon Marshall?

Recommended Posts

I do find it funny that there are people on here who think that there is not a WR in the draft that could match Marshall's talent or abilities.

Marshall was drafted in the 4th round. His draft bios and read-ups all said that he would probably be a 3rd WR and red zone threat. Some even speculated that he might have to move to TE because of his speed. There is no reason to think that there is not another diamond in the rough in this draft. This is a deep draft, there is a lot of "fringe" talent at WR in the later rounds.

For the record I never said that (actually think D. Thomas reminds me a lot of Marshall). I said there was no one who has NFL success in this draft. I hear the argument all the time about QB's. And WR's usually (especially ours) take time to get up to speed wherein Marshall is ready, willing, and able to be the #1 now.

Agreed, Marshall will be an imediate impact and frankly its what smitty has been askin for, so get this deal done and make smitty happy until marshall throws a tantrum and ends up on his ass (smitty will be the cause of this happening)

How many SB have we one with this approach? Say what you want we have been mediocre since inception. Good one year bad the next 1 or 2.

I am not advocating becoming Jerry Jones or Dan Snyder but when a superstar in a position of need becomes available for a 2nd round pick your crazy for not at least attempting a trade. Through all his problems off the field his play on the field has never been effected. And while not a model team player he wasn't much of a distraction before McDaniels was hired.

Wow. You missed the point.

Besides that, you are wrong about good guys winning. I would love to have another receiver that is capable... there are other ways to get one. Yes. He's established....not just at receiver either.

My point is simple, Richardson will put his stamp on any player we trade for...and Marshal won't be one of them. Like it, hate it...but understand it.

I have already conceded this point numerous times. Didn't say we would said we should.

Gotta remember if we trade for him we might only have him for one year. Gotta work out an extension and you never know if he would want to play for us.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this (havent read the entire thread yet) but I think that B. Marshall could possibly be a right place/right time type addition to the Panthers roster. With Smitty suggesting that he would like to take a slightly lesser role in the future, Marshall has got to like the situation. He would be in a situation to where he could come in and make an immediate impact and put us back in the playoffs(at the very least). If he ended up fitting into our system and signed an extension he would be primed to "officially" take over the #1 reciever spot, that is when Smitty decides to "step down" in a few seasons or whatever.

sounds like Denver is sticking to thier guns and want a first rounder for him. this is probably why no one is making a move for him. could be a draft day trade....

hey, we like to trade away future first rounders, this could fit our mold!

The headache marshall could bring to this franchise is not worth a future first round pick. If we wanted to choose a WR with that pick we should draft AJ Green. He'd fit this system perfectly and he'd take jarretts spot so everyone could quit doggin jarrett.

agreed, i am totally against giving up future first rounder for anyone other than Tom brady at this point. but, i would consider a 2nd if the other pieces fit right. but its not gonna happen, just fun to speculate.

Marshall is the best chance to lock up a #1.. drop the "headache" argument, everyone wants paid.. pay the kid and let's win some ball games.

This isn't T.O.

and he is worth a 1st rounder.. take away the fact that we have given up a future 1st pick every year, then yes, he is most definitely worth it..

doesn't mean I'd like to give up next years 1st.. but I won't be mad at all if it happened.. He's proven. accept it. :)

Washington could trade Haynesworth

who they don't want in their 3-4 to Bronco's .

For B Marshall

Bronco's and Marshall are both ready to move on

Shanny still knows people in Denver that could get this done .

Mc Nabb would have a WR to throw to

I see the leverage there.. and I don't like it. I want both of those players, HERE...
