All Disappointment Team

How many times did Saint fans come in here telling us how Shockey was going to be anything other than the disappointment he has always been...

Jeremy Shockey, Saints -- New Orleans tried to pry Shockey loose from the Giants for six months before trading for him in July, and I'm guessing no one in the Saints organization can even remember why they worked so hard. New Orleans gave up second- and fifth-round picks in 2009 for a guy who was the poster child for low-impact acquisitions this season. The stats say he caught 50 passes for 483 yards in 12 games, but I honestly don't remember seeing any of them. Shockey was always hurt, he lost two fumbles, didn't score any touchdowns, and I didn't even think his new, shorter haircut was all that much.

was surprised hackett wasn't up there honestly.

I agree. Amazes me he was inactive for so long as well.

DeAngelo Hall, Raiders/Redskins -- The mind boggles at the fact Oakland gave Atlanta second- and fifth-round picks for Hall last offseason, and then handed him a seven-year, $70 million contract that included $24.5 million of guarantees. He got torched so routinely this season that the Raiders released him after just eight games, for which he was paid $8 million. He then signed with the Redskins and resumed his underachieving ways.

The world finally saw the truth this year... Amazing it took this long.

And they include a lot of rookies in there. As good as they may do, I never really expected Glen Dorsey or Gholston to lead the league or even their team in any category.

Speaking of, what ever happened to that fella from USC? What team did he go to? Ced... Ellis? something?

I think his point, though, is that they were first round picks who did absolutely nothing, forget about leading their team in anything.

Mike Wahle, Seattle -- The Seahawks snapped Wahle up in free agency, hoping he could solve the problem they've had at left guard since Steve Hutchinson got away to Minnesota. But Wahle's mediocre play only contributed to Seattle's season-long offensive line issues, and he was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury after just 10 games.

he would be a dissapointment if we didn't have moose, since we don't have any ill effects from his abscense he's not a dissapointment

but i have a HUGE feeling we will be seeing alot of him on saturday

i agree, i've begun to have great respect for how fox game plans for the playoffs in the regular season. IMO this is to a large extent why it always appears as though we're playing down to the level of our competition.

that might be because when he is on the field he's productive.

13 receptions for 181 yards, 3 catches of 20+ yards, and 7 first downs.

his problem is staying healthy, not production.

everyone's production on that list sucks on the field, healthy or not.

dunno.... he's been active for 9 games. I think it's more attributable to Fox's scheming and Jake's blinders.

    • I've seen several in the last couple of weeks. Had a close call this evening walking the dogs. My Rottie was at my side and my pittie was up ahead and about that time I see a stick laying across the driveway maybe 20 feet ahead. We get a little closer and that's no stick. That's a BIG copperhead laying across the driveway on the bridge. I grab my Rottie and now I have him in my right hand and the pittie is on the other side of the snake. She had to have stepped right over it. Neither dog had noticed the snake at this point and I'm trying to he chill and keep it that way. I switch my Rottie to my left hand and tell my little to sit and stay. Now I'm skipping past this copperhead between it and my Rottie and grab my pittie with my right hand. poo, this isn't gonna work. Now we gotta get past this copperhead again. It's about three feet long laying stretched out across the driveway on a 10' wide bridge. We have maybe four feet to play with so here I am with a 120# Rottie in one hand and an 80# pit bull in the other trying both trying to figure out how we're getting past this copperhead and trying to do it fast before they notice it and do something stupid. Finally decide on sending the Rottie who is my right hand scooting up the driveway ahead of us since I'm between him and the snake. We get up to the snake and I guide him ahead and tell him go,go,go, go and he happily goes trotting up the driveway giving me time to swap the pittie to my right hand so I'm between her and the snake and we scurry past. The copperhead never moved and never offered any sign of either aggression nor fear. It was just chilling.
    • Yep they probably have some good tape on Daniels and Washington by now and the Packers do look legit
    • I'm not. I think the Packers may have become legit contenders with that Parsons trade and I wouldn't be surprised if Daniels and Washington have a bit of a coming back down to Earth after taking the league by surprise last year.
