he's 6'4. 218 lbs and ran a 4.49 40 at the combine. The Redskins drafted him in the 7th last year and he had an impressive preseason but didn't see much action in the regular games.

From what I've read, because he's not a special teamer (and not a Shanahan pick).

He was a fan favorite after a good preseason last year. He's a big play guy, and we have a big play offense. Not sure we have a tall, straight line spped guy like that on roster at the moment. His size could be useful in the red zone.

The knocks: He hasn't been playing football very long and needs some work on his routes.

As a possible fourth receiver and future prospect, I'd definitely take a look.

yea i liked the article and i think with as young and inexperienced as our receiving corps is he would have a great chance of making the team. he can't be much worse than some of the guys we already have lol.

The worry would be to have him be a "looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane" guy.

Here's some scouting analysis that was pulled from his combine page via Redskins Blog (link)

Positives: Rare height and arm length for the position. Good straight-line speed to challenge deep. Can track the ball over either shoulder and shows good body control and field awareness to keep his feet in bounds. Soft hands to pluck the ball out of the air and can make the reception outside of his frame. Alert receiver who will work his way back when the quarterback is under pressure. Good leaping ability. Shows a bit of vision and elusiveness as a runner after the catch and has the long strides to pull away from smaller defenders. Uses his size and length to effectively run block against small corners.

Negatives: Much of his production is due to this offense. Good, not great, straight-line speed. Will be caught from behind by NFL corners. Long-strider who has to build up to it. Lacks the short burst quickness to consistently gain separation against elite cover corners. Sinewy frame that may not withstand NFL punishment. Ball security may be an issue considering his lack of upper body strength. Isn't the dominant red-zone target his size indicates, due to marginal toughness and physicality in going up for the ball in traffic. Allows too many passes to get into his pads, resulting in some drops.

He looks like the kind of guy that, if you could coach him up, might be really something. Of course, that's a big "if", but at this point you're not really risking anything.

Don't know that we'll look at him, but if it were my call, I would.

We have a lot of guys in camp. But at a weak position, more competition is not a bad thing.

We don't need more crappy players just because they're cheap. I really don't understand the logic here. If you pay 5 crappy players a million dollars each, or you pay 1 good player 5 million, you've still spent 5 million.
