they did a top 10 divisional round moments, and the panthers were number 8. given the round i think many of you could figure out which play they picked. Double OT. vs the rams. yeah. Jake to Steve on the X-clown for the touchdown. its one of those plays i could watch over and over.

Nice....drinking in the A.M. Who ever said that beer isnt a breakfast beverage?

haha, i think he meant back when he watched it live.

i bloodied my knuckles jumping up off the sofa and hitting them on the low, popcorn-paint ceiling in my mom's basement. i dont think i realized it for a few minutes due to all the excitement.

Did not see the segment either, but it is a travesty to hear that play wasn't top 5. Further evidence of the Anti-Panthers bias in the MSM.

Since we're sharing our "where were you stories" about that game, I guess I'll share mine. I was driving down to my uncle's house just outside of Washington DC that night (staying there for the night, on the way driving down to NC from Rhode Island). But these were the pre-GPS days, and I got extremely lost near his house. So I had to listen to all of regulation and the first three or four minutes of overtime in the car -- you can't imagine how agonizing it was being lost AND hearing the Panthers blow that 11-point lead.

But all's well that end's well -- found the place in time to catch most of the first overtime, and Smitty's game-winner. Good times.

Yeah that play is definitely one of those, "where were you when..." moments as a Panthers fan. I remember it pretty well. I had to work and I was working on an assembly line for Ford. I had a small color TV set up at my workstation for the game. It's hard to work and do the job at the same time so I'd miss some plays here and there, but during the overtimes I had our upgrader (who is kind of like a utility worker who knows all the jobs in our section) cover my job while I watched the overtime. When Smitty caught that ball, I was yelling so loud that the supervisor thought someone had gotten mangled in the line or something.

    • fans view “box safety” with the same disdain they have when they hear “game manager” QB.   but there’s a reason most 1st round safeties are “box safeties”-it’s a much longer list of requisite skills to be a good box safety than it is to be a guy whose only real responsibility is to not get beat over the top. Fans crave the ed reed type and as someone who has never been able to enjoy this franchise having a guy like that, I get the enthusiasm-but I’m not really prepared to spend a first round pick on a free safety. If it happens it’ll be fun, it’ll address a need with a good player and that’s well and good. But those guys end up walking after their first contract because their pedigree usually outpaces what their teams feel like they’re adding to their overall win total.
    • Its criminal that the upcoming season is mainly in the tiny hands of BY.  I still member the time I did a full turn, if you member his first off-season from that Panthers all-time worst team....... Answering questions at his first presser, he goes along the lines " I didn't do nothing, no weight room or throwing" " I needed to get away". I was fully out with him, the guy didn't even try to improve his football mind, body, strength, in the biggest joke of panther football. I could not believe it, what a leader or dare say "point guard"(lols @ NBA point guards as a ref)
    • I view FS almost as the NT of the secondary. Oftentimes the true measure of his impact isn't necessarily in the plays that he makes but what he allows you to do with the rest of your defense to allow them to make plays. When you have that elite true sideline to sideline FS safety blanket over the top of the defense it allows you to be a lot more aggressive with everyone else. Where as when you have a Nick Scott as your last line of defense you gotta be mindful to not have to rely too heavily on that.
