The Panther QB Question

I think Cantwell needs to go. His lackluster career at Louisville is showing itself in the NFL. Does anyone else notice that he only throws "bullet" passes? This guy has no touch what so ever.

...i don't think he will have a very easy time finding another HC job at all. most teams will look at him and the $$ he will warrant and want to go with another coach for less money and more potential. there are quite a few young guns around the league that will likely land the majority of job openings. teams for the most part just aren't interested in re-treads. his best chance to have a HC job next year is to stay around here and hope he gets another contract to come his way. he'll more than likely have to wait a couple years if he wants to get another HC job elsewhere.

I can't agree with this at all. Fox has shown the ability to build a winning team & has continually progressed as a coach thru the years (think about getting younger players into the games earlier, etc.). Fox will be a hotter commodity than Gruden for sure & possibly even Cowher (just b/c of Cowher's time away from the game & knowing if he wants to resume the crazy schedule of coaching). I'm not saying Fox 'will' be more sought after than Cowher, but Fox would be in the top 2 available HCs if he does not return to the Panthers.

That said, Fox would be stupid to leave a great organization/state/city/team/players/etc. to go somewhere else for a few more $. Building a team is not simple, it takes correct organizational structure, leadership & the right group of people in the right positions. As Panther fans, we sometimes don't realize how lucky we are...compared to other teams.

Anyway, I think Fox will & should be here next year (same too for Hurney).

Good job repeating what the so-called experts keep saying from espn, nfl network, fox sports, etc...

Yeah, Pep, I think you are right; That is the exact pespective the national media have about us.

In reality, the most likely scenarios have been covered by many very football smart posters here in this thread. The reality is that you make business decisions in realtion to the risk-reward ratio. All in all, I think Richardson knows that all of this confusion of the CBA is allowing him to 'see what he has' in all areas of the team, before making anymore long-term committments. Richardson really wnats to see a Championship brought here; Now that his boys are out of the organization, he really needs it to happen under his own watch. I think ultimately, we will like how the options play out for the Panthers...even if it does leave us scratching our heads right now at times.
