i actually knew of deangelo back then, only caz he holds the NCAA recod for most all purpose yards. he was arguably the greatest college player of all time (at his position at the very least) and yet nobody had any idea who he was, caz he was overshadowed by bush.

i honestly didnt think deangelo had a shot in hell at coming to the panthers, when we got him i shat myself. its too bad he wasted 2-3 years behind foster.

that's funny, i called the pick before the draft. i wasn't fan of foster at all. i called stewart too.

Not likely......Lendale isn't one to take performance enhancers' date=' it's much more likely that he smoked a metric ton of weed before a drug test.[/quote']Yeah, that's kind of what I meant by "in a way". Not that I thought it was the same failed drug/performance enhancing substance test, but just the fact that there was a known issue that stays hidden until, there is suddenly a four game suspension. Probably too many legal aspects to this issue, but it just seems silly that Cushing failed a test before the 2009 season and received a 4 game suspension starting this year. I'm wondering if White's case has the same sort of timeline.

About the drugs in professional sports...why does the players only get suspensions, if a regular working man failed a drug test they'd get fired and loose their jobs completely. So if a player (ricky williams, brian cushing, jp, lendale white, etc.) Gets busted for using drugs then why aren't they banned from professional sports. It shouldn't matter how good they are or what profit they can bring to organizations, its a bad example for upcoming players...they know if they get caught they'll have to skip 4-6 weeks of the season and still be able to bank more than most people with bachelors degrees. Well back on topic I can see lendale going to the saints to help reggie become the player he was in college. Cuz without lendale-reggie is nothing and vice versa. Just have to keep lendale away from the vicaden cabinet :D

Probably because the amount of money and time invested in that player. And yes the money they rank is probably a factor too.

I seriously don't understand athletes sometimes. When I'm about to apply for a MINIMUM WAGE job I always make sure there is no chance I'll fail a drug test. These guys are looking at million dollar paydays and can't stay clean?

    • Facts it's still crazy that they made him sell over that especially considering what some of the other owners have done.  JR was a rich 80 year old white man from the south I'm not at all surprised about him making some "inappropriate" comments about what a woman is wearing water is wet what a surprise. That's just the way things were done during his time, and he should and did get punished for his actions by paying some hefty fines, but it definitely wasn't something that he should've been forced to sell his team over.  I'll never forget him insulting Peyton Manning during a negotiation, reportedly belittling the quarterback’s knowledge of player safety and asking, “Do I need to help you read a revenue chart, son?
    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
