Which will make it all the more hilarious when they lose to the Germans in the first round. Germany 5, England 1, revenge will be had. :lurk5:

1 World Cup 2 World wars.

Good luck today guys. Hope we both win. A lot of hate for England now on this board.

No. That left back isn't a mistake, he's actually starting.

Edit: Heh, I don't hate England. I just think the press reacts hilariously. Crouch is actually my favorite player.

Reading more about this France thing, though the original source of this is The Mirror, so take it with a grain of salt.

It seems Ribery had set up a night out for the French team, at a venue of Ribery's choice, which unsurprisingly turned out to be a Gentlemen's Club.

Yoann Gourcuff said he just wanted to chill out and watch TV that night but he was fine with everyone going without him. This pissed Ribery off, inspiring him to ask "Will your mother not all you to go you homosexual slut?"

These two don't get along to begin with, Ribery doesn't like Gourcuff because he's quiet and thoughtful -- that'd be funny if it wasn't true, Ribery thinks Gourcuff is snotty because of this, but by most accounts he's just introverted.

Anyway, that was apparently one of the flashpoints.

The "homosexual" mark is totally unconfirmed but it has come from several sources.

The same Ribery that's going to jail for fuging an underage prostitute?

Haha. I know it's great. They build them up for 4 years then bring them back down when the fail. Crouch is my favorite as well. He scores a lot of international goals and for some reason he isn't starting.

Bornstein behind Dempsey could be real bad. If we're getting a lot of chances and Dempsey presses the attack that leaves a very vulnerable left side.

I think the idea is to be agressive early then readjust the back and sit tight to move on.

I think we've been terrible in central defense, but I'd have tried to remedy it by doing a straight swap with Goodson for Onyewu and defending deeper. Bornstein gets exposed so much it makes me nervous as hell.

    • I never needed stats to tell me how a player is doing. I watch every snap and if they have more bad plays than good plays that is all I need to see. Young has more bad than he has good, by a wide margin.  He was going to need to overcome an overwhelming size disadvantage coming into the league. He had to lead a dysfunctional, talentless team and turn it around. He had no chance and somehow the FO overlooked all of that. The fact that the odds of it being remotely successful were 1000:1 is all the reason you need. Tepper made his fortune taking gambles like this but that is in finance, you don't do that in football.
    • Ty for posting this. People who have been paying attention can see Canales' fingerprints all over Bryce this season. Last season Bryce would be 15 yards deep at the top of his drop. This game he was a consistent 7-10 yards. The big takeaway for me is that DC seems to have simplified the game for Bryce. I noticed that BY9 only operated one half of the field. When the ball is on the outside hash (short side), his game is geared more to the boundary. Multiple patterns and deep outside shots. When the ball is placed on the inside hash (wide side), it's virtually all in-breaking or smoke routes and\or deep shots. Most of his over the middle passes are executed from a deep drop. I really do not think he can see the field. I think DC has tried to mitigate it as best he can, but there simply are physical limitations that cannot be ignored in this league. I do not think he can execute fully, DC's offense. I think DC is frustrated and damn near over the BY9 era.
    • If the other guy didn't try to have someone murdered, Xavier Legette would easily be the worst draft pick this franchise has ever spent on a WR.
