If Revis is that valuable to that defense as much as ESPN and Rex Ryan says he is in every interview, positional salary slots should be damned, and he should get as much money as he can.....he shouldnt go to training camp without a new deal, regardless.

It leaves 10 men but I can't recall a G scoring a TD. Sure he covers 1 guy but that 1 guy is usually the #1 WR and he DESTROYS them. You're a stat guy...look that up. It might surprise you how much he dominates Elite WR's

No one disputes he is a great corner. Perhaps one of the top 2 or 3 in the league. The bottom line is that he makes 50 tackles a season or 3 a game. He defended 2.4 passes a game. He made an interception every 2.8 games. Sorry but that is not worth 100 million to me. Again I agree he is great but the best corner in the game shouldn't be making Drew Brees or Peyton Manning money.

Can you really measure his impact on the game or worth to that defense, which is the best in the league, with stats?

I promise you that when the GM talks a new contract with Revis they will be pulling out the stats. The best way to value a guy is compare him by the numbers just like DEs are valued by sacks, middle linebackers are valued by tackles, and quarterbacks are valued by passer ratings. Do they tell everything? No. But they provide the best measuring sticks for comparison purposes.

No one throws at him. Gives Rex the ability to send extra defenders since Revis can cover 1/2 the field

Last season he was thrown at 111 times which is much higher than many players. Compare that with Charles Woodson who was rated ahead of him and was thrown at 71 times. In all fairness though he only allowed 37% of the passes to be caught. Not sure why folks threw so much his way actually.
