USA robbed

The commentators on the ESPN broadcast orginally said it was an offsides call. But either way, there was no foul by the US players. In fact, Bradley was being bear-hugged by one of the Slovenian players so he couldn't get free. It was just absurd all around.

Yeah, I know I was watching the recap on ESPN said everyone originally thought it was an offisides call (even though no one was offsides) but the actual call was a foul on Edu (even though he or no one else fouled anybody on that d*mn Slovenia team).

I just saw the replay on espn, what bullsh*t... That ref needs to be fired immediately. I hate sh*t like that, and you see it all the time in team sports we participate internationally in, except for maybe basketball. Anytime you have international judges/refs, we're gonna get ripped off, they take out all their envy and hate of America on the field/scorer's table with them.

Landon Donovan even said in the article that they repeatedly asked the ref what was the call or who it was on and he couldn't and wouldn't answer them... Meaning? BULLSH*T. F*ckin hater...

This is why despite me just picking up on soccer in my 20s, I'm having a hard time really sticking with it because of this. I like the strategy and skill involved, no doubt the athleticism... But, I can't take much more of how much the refs are allowed to dictate the outcome of the games and the dramatics of the players - making them look like pansies trying to get yellow or red cards on an opponent.

There's just too much gray area that the refs are allowed to control. How can you blow a whistle, rule the play never happened, and never even identify what or who the penalty was on? In any other sport, if a ref couldn't come up with an explanation for the penalty, the play counted. Not in soccer. I hope that ref gets a good old beat down from some U.S. Soccer Hooligans, if there is any lol...

Politics play a big part in soccer, so don't expect the US to get anything less than horrible treatment by officiating. It's a widely accepted fact of life that the refs are biased because they really only want certain teams to win. Part of the reason I don't follow soccer.
I love watching soccer, but I see your point ,the officiating has always been biased against America and that goes for womens soccer as well.I remember a few years back when one of our women whom already had a yellow card was given a red card becuase she and a Brazilian player got their legs tangled and they both fell down.Red cards are supposed to be for blantant violent fouls, like a deliberate punch or deliberate hard elbow to the face.

Only if Slovenia loses to England.

Actually No,

These Are All The Possible Way's That The USA Can Advance

First Scenario

If England win's today here is how the group standings will look

Slovenia (4 pts.)

England (4 pts.)

USA (2 pts.)

Algeria (0 pts.)

This would mean that the England vs. Slovenia game has to have a clear winner and the U.S. has to win.

If what I mentioned above happens the group standings could look like this...

If England beats Slovenia and the U.S. beats Algeria

England (7 pts.)

USA (5 pts.)

Slovenia (4 pts.)

Algeria (0 pts.)

If Slovenia beats England and the U.S. beats Algeria

Slovenia (7 pts.)

USA (5 pts.)

England (4 pts.)

Algeria (0 pts.)

Second Scenario

If England ties Algeria today here is how the group standings will look

Slovenia (4 pts.)

USA (2 pts.)

England (2 pts.)

Algeria (1 pt.)

This would mean that the U.S. control's their own destiny.

If what I mentioned above happens the group standings could look like this...

If Slovenia beats England and the U.S. beats Algeria

Slovenia (7 pts.)

USA (5 pts.)

England (2 pts.)

Algeria (1 pt.)

If England beats Slovenia and the U.S. beats Algeria

England (5 pts.)

USA (5 pts.)

Slovenia (4 pts.)

Algeria (1 pt.)

If England and Slovenia tie and the U.S. beats Algeria

USA (5 pts.)

Slovenia (5 pts.)

England (3 pts.)

Algeria (1 pt.)

Third Scenario

If Algeria beats England here is how the group standings will look

Slovenia (4 pts.)

Algeria (3 pts.)

USA (2 pts.)

England (1 pt.)

This would mean that the U.S. control's their own destiny.

If what I mentioned above happens the group standings could look like this...

If Slovenia beats England and the U.S. beats Algeria

Slovenia (7 pts.)

USA (5 pts.)

Algeria (3 pts.)

England (1 pt.)

If England beats Slovenia and the U.S. beats Algeria

USA (5 pts.)

England (4 pts.)

Slovenia (4 pts.)

Algeria (3 pts.)

If England and Slovenia tie and the U.S. beats Algeria

USA (5 pts.)

Slovenia (5 pts.)

Algeria (3 pts.)

The only good thing this ref did was giving Findley a yellow card. That will force Bradley to sit him in the Algeria match. Findley has no business being on this team, much less the starting lineup.

As for the call, I still haven't heard what the call really was. Bradley said at the end of the game that he had still not been given an explanation as to what the call even was.

ahem... wrong football guys.

it really bothers me how nobody in the U.S. gives a damn about soccer, then the world cup rolls around and suddenly everyone loves watching it. lets face it, all the soccer style sports (putting a ball into a goal guarded by a goalie with an odd instrument e.g. soccer, lacrosse and even hockey) just cannot match the intensity and suspense of basketball, football and baseball.
