Offseason thoughts....opinions???

There is no way we are going to a 3-4 defense. While Peppers would be fine in an OLB role, the rest of our D-Line is not built for that type of defense. It simply just isn't going to happen.
Not Built ?

What does it take to be built ?

Steelers

Keisel 6'5" 285 Brayton 6'6" 280

Hampton 6'1" 325 Kemo 6'5" 345

Smith 6'5" 298 Lewis 6'2" 301 [Maybe replace ]

Harrison6'3" 241 Peppers 6'7" 283

Foote 6'1' 235 Beason 6'0"237

Farrior 6'2" 243 Connor 6'2" 231

Woodley 6'2' 265 Davis 6'0"240

Panthers would have more speed in LB's than Steelers

Front 3 could be tweaked in F/A

their main job is stuff run and keep blockers off LB's

H Taylor could be used more as a blitzing LB

Lucas is a better tight coverage CB than a 20 yds off the ball db

Would be a much more aggresive defense

Remember CAPERS defense when here?

MILLS was too short to play in a 3 -4

All Panthers need is a coaching staff that believes in the 3-4

problem with the peppers needs to stay is his after game comments make it seem as though he isn't happy in carolina and wants out.

I wouldn't be happy either after that performance, and more importantly, the fact that things most likely won't change defensively with Trgo at the helm. As long as Fox remains HC, things won't change, and that alone may give Peppers good reason to consider other options with Free Agency around the corner.

with my lineup I had us picking up Haynesworth to be our de

Haynes kemo and a mix of brayton and johnson and lewis at the end.

lbers

Peppers Beason Connors/davis taylor

good speed guys on the inside and blitzing olb on the outside, also the style of defense fits our corners and safety's better as well as they are all physical press guys.

We need a better #2 WR. Let Moose be #3. He's perfect for that. Jarrett is a bust I'm guessing. There has to be more to why he never plays. Let's go get one in FA or the draft and we can have Doube Trouble for running backs AND WRs!

Sad thing is, I just looked at the FA list and it's weak. The best one, I've already made a thread about: T.J. Whosyamama over in Cinci. Ugh.

whose the ultimate 2nd receiver possession style guy.

I wouldn't be upset with smith, T.J and moose at the wr postion.

If I were Gross and Peppers, I damn sure would not want to play for this team either.

Jenkins was right unfortunately, them boys got no heart.

If we lost 90% of our FA's this year I would not be surprised at all, hell I just hope some players on the defense call out some of the coaches.

This team is soft as butter, and I don't mean physically, but mentally they are soft as butter.

    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
    • At least we don't need to hear overreacting about towels ...
    • Actually there is, try being a Charlotte Hornets fan. I mean the team fuging moved at its peak and hasn't recovered since and that was 25 years ago
