Preseason Opponents...

Anyone notice that we will facing some of the top running backs and running offenses in the NFL during the preseason? I think this is great bc of the questions we have at DT and linebacker. Guys like shonn Greene, chris Johnson, ray rice, and rashard mendenhall should prove to be a good test for ou defense. In contrast the passing games of these teams aren't as dominant which is good bc I believe our secondary will be a strength.

As far as the offense I think we are getting a good blend of defenses too with the dominant 3-4 of the jets, ravens, and steelers. And an average 4-3 from the titans. Moore and clausen should get some good pressure on them so we can see them under fire.

I really love how fox puts together our preseason games...we are going to get a really good look at our strengths and weaknesses. We may be 1-4 (which doesn't matter) but the coaches and fans should get a good idea of what to expect during the season.

Preseason is a good chance to look at your defense since they are usually ahead of the offense. Not doing well on offense is not that telling since most teams are very vanilla particularly against teams we will see in the regular season. Plus most teams don't gameplan that much until at least game 3.

We will get to see quite a bit of the 3-4 in preseason by our opponents. And teams like the Jets, and Pittsburgh will be blitzing right out of the chute. I doubt we do much on offense since we play both the Ravens and Pittsburgh later in the season.

Other than telling us something about our run defense, the preseason won't ne nearly as informative as you think. Fox likes to keep things close to the vest and give other teams little to use in preparing for us. Plus Smitty is a huge part of the offense and won't see the field at all. Some of the guys making big contributions in the preseason may not make the starting day roster.

the titans game should be interesting being its the game the starters will be playing in the longest.i hope our d can contain cj but if they cant it should really tell something about our d.

What is it gonna tell about our D? last time I checked nobody could contain CJ. If we do a decent job i'll be pleasantly surprised.
