Car Selling Question

Johnny Rockets

Recommended Posts

Payed the tax bill and went to the bank today for a personal loan to pay off the GMC so I could get my title then will pay the loan off once I sell it.

I was going to just borrow the money from my dad for a week or so but the loan girl at the bank was hot and pressured me into taking the personal loan instead. Well worth the $165 it is going to cost me in loan origination fee. Plus she asked me if I would be willing to sell her car for her because she wants to sell it and doesn't feel like dealing with it. Pretty sure this in how p0rnos start out ......at least they do in my mind.

Tough situation to be in....You legally can't transfer a car without the title. And for the most part companies, when you pay them off, don't take longer than 2 weeks to get the title to you.

That's what I was thinking. It's been a long time since I was involved in the car business, though.

It took BB&T a month to send the title when I paid off a car loan through them.

I wouldn't have believed it if it hadn't happened to me but take it to Carmax.

Took them my father in laws car after he passed away last year "just to see what they would offer". We had looked it up and the Blue Book was around 20k. We decided if someone offered us that we would take it on the spot. Carmax gave us 23.5K. Took care of all of the paperwork and made it nice and easy.

It cant hurt to let them make you an offer and you're under no obligation to take it.

I thought about that but didn't think it would be worth my time.

Dude...

I may have missed something, but...

If you work out a deal with someone that wants to buy it, more than likely they are going to be getting a loan to pay for it... Their bank might even want to look at the vehicle to approve the loan in the first place... If so, their bank will get with your bank, have the title sent to them, and then when they get it, call you... You'd then likely meet the buyer at their bank to sign over the title, get your money, and be done with the whole deal...

Of course, if they are paying cash, this is a moot point...

or using that money for a smartphone that she obviously doesnt need..

*punching your liver*

Don't get me started on that Smart phone thing. We went there last night and somehow it cost $400 out of pocket for the phones (before rebate) and our cell phone bill was going up to $207 a month and that is with only her having the Droid. Ridiculous.

<<punches self in area that he thinks his appendix might be in

    • Another source: NFL Rumors: Hakeem Butler to Visit Panthers After UFL Success, Wade Phillips' Praise ZACH BACHAR JUNE 10, 2024 The Carolina Panthers are expected to conduct a workout with UFL wide receiver Hakeem Butler, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Butler recorded a league-leading 652 receiving yards as a member of the St. Louis Battlehawks. He was previously a fourth-round draft pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2019. After the Battlehawks were defeated by the San Antonio Brahmas in the XFL Conference title game, Brahmas head coach and longtime NFL coach Wade Phillips told the receiver that "I'm going to tell everybody in the NFL that I talk to that you need to be playing," via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. Despite the loss by St. Louis, Butler still hauled in six receptions for a team-high 59 receiving yards. The 28-year-old was named the 2024 UFL Offensive Player of the Year, as he was one of only two wideouts to have multiple games with at least 100 receiving yards. While the Panthers added Diontae Johnson and first-round rookie Xavier Legette to their wide receiver room in the offseason, they could still use some depth in the form of Butler. Carolina isn't opposed to picking up former UFL players, as Rapoport revealed on Thursday that the team is also "expected" to sign All-UFL receiver Daewood Davis. Although Butler was selected by the Cardinals in the 2019 draft, he did not play as a rookie due to a hand injury and only appeared in two regular-season games as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020. He did not record a catch. Butler signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2023 offseason, although he ultimately didn't make the team's regular-season roster. At 6'5", he has the frame to potentially make an impact in training camp and earn a shot at making Carolina's 53-man roster. If his workout goes well with the Panthers, Butler could give himself another chance to possibly return to the NFL.
