My take on Madden NFL 11

I have played the demo and its OK.

I have bought the the last 2 seasons with minor issues.

I think I noticed in this year's game is that the wr catching seems to have been tweaked for the better. In madden 10 players would catch the ball in bounds...you would challange it and they still wouldnt over turn the call!!

I made a side line catch in demo and thought for sure i would have to call a challenge ..but didnt have to.

I do not understand why they changed the kicking and the blocking for them??!!

Def changes that ARE NOT an upgrade.

My biggest issue with madden 11 is that they did basically nothing to the franchise mode. They have needed to revamp this for years and this is prob the area where you can upgrade the game the most. FA,NFL draft, stadiums, endorcements etc...i could go on 4ver.

I already pre-0rdered it, but i am way pissed about the franchise and the kicking.

That NFL license needs to go.

Cant 2k just spell the players and teams names differently ??

Charlotte Panthers

Mat More

Jon beaston etc...

I bought NCAA, and I don't have room for two football games on my shelf. Didn't really like the Madden demo very much and I'm happy with this year's NCAA.

Seems like Madden this year was geared mostly towards online play.

It depends on how you define bad. I define it as EA taking last year's Madden and adding a layer of B.S. on top of it. Everything is basically the same as last year's, but they put in the game flow thing, which I thought was lame. They changed the commentary, which I thought sucked. And they changed the controls some, which really irritated me considering I've been playing Madden for the past five or six years and it's been the same control configuration ever since. They only added the right stick in for jukes and hurdling players... but those motions were already in the game, you just had to hit a button instead of moving the right stick.

What pissed me off the most about it was the fact that EA swore up and down that their tackling system was finally perfect, when it's still just as bad as before.

You know how to tell when someone hasn't played Madden since 2003?

My biggest problem so far is the "improved" adjustments at the line of scrimmage. I had the old system down pat. Screen watchers didn't bother me a bit because I could go through it so quickly. Now I have to learn another system that doesn't seem to offer as much control.

Other than that, I noticed Sanchez' release is slow as pond water. But the Jets make up for with with Shonn Greene plowing over everyone.

In my first game in the demo, I returned the kick into Colts' territory, when the unthinkable (and embarrassing) happened... the kicker tackled the returner and stripped the ball. I lost the fumble and immediately a screen popped up telling me how to challenge the play. I thought it was just going to pop up automatically anyway, so I just ignored it. Then the light bulb went off, I challenged the play and the call was reversed.

Now we're dumbed down to the point that a video game says "hey, the wrong call was purposely made to see if you read these video game pop-ups."

I haven't tried gameflow yet. That was the first setting I adjusted.
