Sorry, I look outside and see it where I work...wait, I do work here and I'm not a "occupant" of a mental hospital. Right?

I agree that design has become too homogeneous, but I see what they were going for. They didn't want a big ugly football stadium messing up the design plan for the research institute. Had it gone anywhere else on campus, I doubt it would have been designed like that.

Totally agree with Scrum. Please stadium makers. Go in a different direction now. Ok we get it, you like retro. That works when you had something in the ya know, past.

Charlotte should do something college footballish and Euro soccer field. Translucent facades over the seats. Something out of the box.

That sounds like something a school with a well respected Architecture program would do.....oh....wait....

It has never made sense to me why a school with a great architecture program has so little variation in campus buildings. I think they've integrated the buildings very well into the surroundings and made the campus quite aesthetic, but I also see a lot of missed opportunity.

I like what they did with the new UNCC and CPCC buildings. They are a very safe style. And since they are mostly using our tax dollars to finance the the campus' then I'm glad they are going with something that isn't trendy.

The School of Architecture (top 5 in the nation by the way) is not allowed to design projects to be built. Some insurance/liability issue.

CRI campus is Georgian Revival. U made the brick decision 15 years ago and they're not going to change now. The new dorm being built shows a bit more boldness as does EPIC as far as size and types of window arrangements so at least they're taking the reins off a bit on design, as long as it's brick. The Highrises are also going to be bricked to resemble the Library Tower.

It's a safe look and ages well. Colvard Building was hailed and awarded numerous prestigeous awards when brand new in the 70's. I don't know a single person who sees it for the first time today that doesn't start their comments with the phrase "what the f***".

Having football is a good step in the right direction and will help out the school in alot of ways, but its going to take a loooooong-time till Uncc reaches respectable college status. As an educational institution, uncc is fine. As for the college experience, it blows major ass.

If it get Charlotte out of the A-10 it is a great move.

He has been lost in the shuffle there. While the Panthers won't see the fourth-round pick that forms the bulk of the return for Thielen until 2027, getting out from what was owed to a player who has 47 receiving yards in Minnesota is an easy victory. Dowdle has been a revelation since moving into the starting lineup after Chuba Hubbard's injury, becoming one of a handful of players in NFL history to produce consecutive 200-yard scrimmage games. The former Cowboys back was averaging 3 yards per carry before the opportunity, so I'm not sure I would count on him playing like Jim Brown the rest of the way in a rotational role alongside Hubbard. But it's hard to argue that Carolina hasn't already gotten its $2.8 million worth out of the 27-year-old back. Most of Carolina's biggest moves are either tracking to be right around expectation (drafting wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan) or have been impacted by unexpected injuries (signing defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton). Jackson was a pleasant surprise as a starter in 2024, and he hasn't been terrible this season, but most of the big plays against Carolina have come on throws against the former Seahawks cornerback. Overall, though, this has been a very reasonable offseason for the Panthers
    • How would you have taken the guy who was picked ahead of us? That makes no sense.
    • I am not denying that things were said. That wasn’t my point. But carry on this will go nowhere.    Oh snap, the post calling him a liar was like three posts before you jumped in.  what do you get, a post a page?
