Make your own mask

I recently got a pm asking me to make some masks so that the person could have them for a preseason game. Just to recap news from last year...I could get sued by the panthers or nfl for selling these, but many people think they are cool, and want them.

So the graphic that phidelt made for me is attached. Here's how I made them.

1. Print the graphic. Size depends on how big your head is really, but the ones I did were around 4" wide.

2. choose your material. i recommend jersey cotton. it's stretchy, washable and doesn't unravel at cut edges.

3. get fabric paint and fabric stencil paper. it has a sticky backing that can be peeled so that it can be stuck to the fabric.

4. trace the graphic onto the paper. cut it out with an exacto knife for nice clean points.

5. measure around your head, and cut your fabric so that the diagonal across the square is big enough to tie the mask around your head. you can also use velcro dots. some people who got some a while back did this because i didn't cut them large enough for that person.

6. place the stencil on the fabric, and paint it. allow to dry long enough that you don't have to worry about the edges running out when you peel away the stencil.

7. wear proudly.

You can also use an iron on method for the graphic. This is easier, but you won't be able to breath through the mask as easily. The paper for this can be found at walmart and probably anywhere else that sells printer paper. The original I wore to MNF vs TB was like this.

this is the album i created for them, but nothing shows on my machine. maybe its an isolated problem. http://www.carolinahuddle.com/forum/members/king-klong-albums-show-your-fangs.html

uploaded a few just in case it isn't. first two are from the MNF game. a quick one i made just before getting on the road. second two are ones i made the following season and wore to SNF vs MIN.

Don't see how you'd be sued by anyone. It's just the shape of some teeth. There's no team logos on it so you'd be okay selling them. You can give me a couple for free for the legal advise.

went through all that last season. spoke to a rep from adidas and reebok. talked to a rep of the panthers. the graphic is straight off the panthers logo. bottom teeth just centered under the upper ones.

Gonna make one, then rob a bank with it. And then blame you.

that's soooo original

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
