Need help with a letter

I need help writing a letter begging for money. I can either email what I have so far, or just paste it here. I'm stumped on one sentence.

The letter is for donations to my son's band program. My kid and his friend are busting their asses trying to get donations for new instruments and a trailer to haul the drum pit to competitions.

Thank you for agreeing to support the students of the James B Hunt High School Band.

Your contributions are vital. The funds raised support and supplement the classroom education that our students receive. The band program needs new instruments, payment of competition fees, and a cargo trailer to transport instruments for competitions. The students are also hoping to take a trip, a trip that many would not have the opportunity to take otherwise. The money we raise this year will go towards this effort, with the hope that next year we will be able to continue to grow into a (I need help here)

We thank you for your generous donation today to help us build for the future.

Sincerely,

That's what I was stuck on. They'd be happy with better instruments.

A little background on the band program. There's not been a director for six years. Mason came on board last year and is basically starting from scratch. The drums, oh lord, the drums. Spent all day yesterday cleaning the "new" drums. Today we paint. But, they're better than the 20 year old set they were using. I had to clean GUM off 3rd bass.

"grow into one of the more prestigious High School bands in (your state). Our eventual goal is to one day represent (your state) in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California."

That or,

.....growing into a legitimate competition band capable of winning first place and becoming the pride of Johnston County.

???

Well, other than the fact the school's Wilson County. LOL

Carmen came up with:

The money we raise this year will go towards this effort, with the hope that next year we will be able to continue to grow into a competitive unit able to expand the horizons of our young musicians.

    • I think i like the Oregon Safety better
    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
