So I'm headed up to Alexandria tomorrow for the rest of the year and was wondering if anyone had any experience up there. I was wondering about the bars, venues, clubs, and whatnot. My pad is in the middle of Old Town so I'm not too far away from DC...any cool recommendations?

They have some great bars up there. Just walk through Old Town and you cant miss them.

If you're actually looking to go into D.C. and haven't seen them, The Spy Museum is one of the cooler museums in D.C.

Disappointed with the Smithsonians last time I was there, but the Holocaust Museum is a must-see if you haven't already.

There's a bar for Panthers fans in D.C., too. It's called The 18th Amendment. Watched the Panthers/Skins game there last year. Warning: It is also for Saints fans. Why they would cater to those two teams in the same establishment is beyond me, but it's a cool place.

So I've been here for about 2 weeks now and actually went to that oyster bar. Great raw bar. Its pretty expensive around Old Town and older crowds so I've been going into DC for the nightlife. Good stuff so far
