Fox # 1 NFL Coach On Hotseat?

Refers back to the yearly thread about how toughest schedules are totally crap before the season and are based on last year not the present.

And next time use last quarter since last month actually either covers the one game in January or covers December/ January which was 5 games. We beat them December 5 by 11 and lost 4 weeks later by 3. During that span they beat 1 winning team, Atlanta, which we lose to in the dome on Vick's levitation play in the last 2 minutes. We then have to go to the dome to play them and lose by 3 points. We still go 3-2 and could have easily went 4-1 or even 5-0.

No you are totally off base as usual.

But we didnt go 4-1 or 5-0 the last month of the season. However, the saints did which means they were hotter than the panthers in the final month/quarter/whatever.

Now who's off base?

The game wasnt nearly as close as the score indicated. They were up 21-10 with only a few minutes left until the panthers scored a late TD and 2 pt conversion to make it 21-18. The saints bascially dominated and were the ones that played like they wanted to make the playoffs unlike the panthers.

The bottomline, the saints went undefeated the last month. They were the hottest team in the NFL the last month not the panthers. You said it yourself that a win is a win no matter who its against. Did you change your mind?

You're obviously getting frustrated because you're pouting again. All Im doing is talking football without even having to spin anything. You're the only one that is throwing things up against the wall and hoping that it sticks.

LOL who cares about the tailgate? I dont know you and you dont know me so why would I have any desire to go? If I ever take this forum as serious as you I will show up so you can beat me up. LOL!

Your right about new Orleans we totally outplayed them. Why not include the fact that there was a 14 point swing in the second quarter when we were inside their 15 yard line and Jake gets sacks and fumbles. They recover and drive for a score. Otherwise if he doesn't fumble, we are up at half 10-7 or at least close at 7-6 behind instead of 14-3 in a hole at the half. The second half we totally outplayed them. Even then we had a chance to tie them at the buzzer but had Kasay's field goal kick blocked with 4 seconds on the clock.

As for tailgating and the rest, why are you here then. Most people think you are a troll and don't like you. You annoy most folks and argue all day. And we don't know each other largely because I have enough people I have to deal with who are annoying without seeking one out like you. As for this thread you constantly are wrong but argue nonetheless. I will let it go to someone else to pick up the gauntlet. Don't worry though, I am sure you can find someone else to annoy.

Every one of your arguments is "if this play didnt happen" or if "that play didnt happen" we would have done better. No poo shirlock! Hey Maybe if Jake didnt overthrow a wide open Moose in the 2nd quarter when nobody was around him we would have won too. But that didnt happen did it? Im basing things on what actually happened not on what didnt. The fact is the panthers lead 3-0 and never once lead again.

You're the one who is bitching that I dont come to the tailgates not the other way around. This is a MB and nothing more. If you post here to make friends then that is fine. I post here to talk about the panthers. Its not my fault that you dont like me being brutally honest. I suggest you grow thicker skin.

    • "So much of what the Panthers are going to do next week isn't dictated by their preference, but by what happens above them. That's another benefit of not getting locked into need. For instance, if you're thinking you want a receiver, seeing five or six of them go off the board and reacting by taking the sixth or seventh off your list instead of the first (or second or third) something else isn't necessarily wise." https://www.panthers.com/news/ask-the-old-guy-back-into-the-weeds-of-the-nfl-draft-bryce-young-charlotte-hornets-mock-draft This is what some don't seem to get, I don't care how many times it is said: You're NOT going to draft an inferior person at one position, just because that position is perceived as, or is in fact, a bigger need. That would basically nullify, or at least lessen, the reason why you set yourself up via free agency to be able to take the BPA/BAP on the board in the first place.  Yes, the process is complex, very much involved and ongoing, but the overall philosophy is not rocket science. You set yourself up in order not to be pigeonholed into taking a lower graded player at the expense of a higher graded one. This is why Morgan, Gantt and countless of others say the same thing. This is why it's just nonsensical to set yourself in a position where you don't have to, but then act like you have to come hell or high water: "Oh, we have to draft [whatever position], and we can't draft [this position]."  I'm good with whatever they do, until proven otherwise, but even then, you have to be mature enough to know that drafting is an imperfect exercise, filled with hits and misses. And, you generally don't know if you've hit, and especially missed, right away. Moreover, like I've said before, sometimes two players--different positions or not--can both be hits on their respective teams, so in that sense, it's not purely about a right or wrong pick as much as it's about putting puzzle pieces together at the time the best way that you know how.  At the end of the day, people are going to believe what they want to believe, but one thing that's true is that what the Panthers do regarding the draft is dependent upon what others do, and what others do can and does change things. That being the case, it's just another reason why you can't go in with tunnel vision. The thought of doing that is preposterous.
    • He is a talented player with a lot of potential but ultimately he is a legend in his own mind and the minds of those who attack on his behalf when people pinpoint inconvenient truths. I could see people being so hostile over him if he actually had that kind of juice but he doesn't. Even in the Heat win LaMelo took 31 shots and was 40%. If not for Coby White's late heroics we would have lost in regulation. The reality is we do have pieces in place to compete in the playoffs but in year 6 and with a supermax and a salary that is only going to increase over the next few years LaMelo Ball simply does not look like a franchise centerpiece that you can go on multiple playoff runs with. Look at someone like Trae Young. His team moved on. And he actually took them to the conference finals. The Hornets are at a crossroads. Very tough conversations need to be had in the offseason.
