Gantt's comment about LaFell was retarded. Yes, in the half-second of time that LaFell had to react to that throw, he consciously made the decision to catch the ball one handed in order to look more flashy. Are you kidding me? Those kind of plays are all instinctive and reactionary. The ball is up and you catch it any way that you can. You don't think about it.

DG clearly never played competitive sports.

I agree, dude. That's a fuggin ridiculous statement.

It was confidence. . . pure unadulterated ability and confidence.

From the time a ball is thrown (or where the ball is spotted by the wr) to the time its in the wr's hands is like what? 3 to 4 seconds if we're being generous right? Well it takes the human eye about a half second to a second or so when look from one object to another so that leaves 2 to 3 seconds. Figure another half second to a second to see the trajectory which leaves you with? . . . .2 seconds calculate where you need to be to make the catch. . . a diving catch.

(So this is what he sees and does in less than 2 seconds or less)

Realizing that he was a little off with his leap for the ball, LaFell knew he would be out of position for the catch. Instead of panicking and trying to contort is body and flail for the ball. . . what did he do? He camly put his hand down to hold his body in place for his other hand to make the catch.

It looked very graceful and showed he has confidence in himself.

(yes I know what unadulterated means, but I likes hows its sounds?)

DB Marcus Hudson: Probably could walk through the stadium concourse without being recognized, but he’s going to play an important part this year. A standout special teams player will play more defense than first thought, and he’s smart enough to know exactly how to fill his role.

I saw him get beat twice in coverage--one for a TD, if I am not mistaken.

Actually, from the time the ball is thrown to the time it hits the WRs hands is probably just over 1 second (on the route that LaFell ran). you can take a stopwatch to it, and it will be about 1.2 seconds.

    • Give me Anthony Hill Jr or give me death
    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
