NBC announced on Tuesday that former “SNL” cast member and three-time Emmy Award nominee Amy Poehler will host the season opener on September 25, with musical guest Katy Perry.

The season premiere show will mark Amy’s first time hosting and also Katy’s debut in studio 8H.

Also making their “SNL” debuts are Vanessa Bayer from iO Chicago, The Annoyance, and The Second City… Paul Brittain from Chicago’s iO Theater… Los Angeles Groundlings alum Taran Killam… and Virginian comic Jay Pharoah. They will all join the cast as featured players.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, two recent Emmy winners, “Glee” star Jane Lynch and “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston, have also been confirmed as upcoming hosts for the NBC show.

Jenny Slate was not invited to come back for a second season....

    • Some people will shift the goal posts but he does still have to consistently help the team win, eventually. Not only help but be the reason. That's what franchise QB's do.
    • One of the Carolina Panthers' newest defenders thinks their pass rush can go from worst to first. ESPN's David Newton recently chatted with outside linebacker Pat Jones II, who signed with the Panthers as a free agent earlier this offseason. Jones comes over from an awfully impressive Minnesota Vikings defense—one that ranked first in takeaways (33), fourth in sacks (49) and second in QB pressure rate (44.4 percent) this past season. And despite a historically-bad campaign by Carolina's defense in 2024, the 26-year-old seems to believe his new unit can be similar—or even better—than his last. "I definitely think we could do something similar, if not better," Jones said, via Newton. "I've seen it before, so I know what it looks like. I look around the building and see we have exactly what it takes to do that." https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/24/panthers-pat-jones-vikings-espn/83840667007/?taid=683219b347846900018fa10a&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter     It's the offseason.  Let hope spring eternal. (actually, I think we are much closer than this board thinks)
    • 5 total TDs against the Falcons was pretty good efficiency and he showed that ability to go off scripts and get 2 of those TDs rushing.  How many times did he deliver big time throws against pressure.  I agree we need to see this offense operate at high efficiency which starts with Bryce. When he does I hope the goals posts won’t shift to some other stat like QB sneaks lol
