Personally I am sick of these "Trade Williams or Stewart" threads. They both need to be on this team. Do you actually think if we were rotating Stew and Sutton, we would be better off? No IMO

You can only invest so much money into your backfield. 1 ball. 1 RB on the field at a time.

If Stewart is healthy, I could see a 1-2 punch of Stewart/Goodson being pretty dang good.

I love Williams but if there is a lockout he will almost be 30 the next season he plays. If Williams cuts us a deal we should keep him, Carolina simply can't pay both Stewart and Williams what they are worth though in the next few years.

It really doesn't matter what we think or post. FO is going to have to make a decision soon on who we keep for the future. Let's just hope it's the right one.

It doesn't really matter if they could. It's not about one or two players' performances -- it's about the best interests for the team.

Last year, we had two running backs that went over 1,100 yards. What did that get us?

Don't get me wrong, I love both of those guys and, if it's at all possible, I want them both on the team. I'm just being a realist here. We need help in the passing game and have the luxury of being very deep at running back.

We can't afford both, and living by your run game no longer works. I love them both to death, but if one has to go for monetary reasons, I'll understand. It just sucks I like D-Lo way better but I know he'll be the one going if it ever came to that.

All of what you guys have stated maked sense to me. If it came down to it, and I made the decisions I would choose D Will though. Stewart is really good...he just seems to bring up too many question marks.

I would choose D Will and...Goodson for his receiving abilites.

I don't think either should go, nor do I think either will ever leave the Panthers. But, with that being said, DW will probably be the one out the door. I think Stew has finally gotten himself to 100%, or somewhere in the vicinity. And when you've got a power back like Stew, with a scat-back like Goodson waiting in the wings, it's kind of hard to see any kind of support to level the playing field between big Stew and DW. Like someone else said, DW will be almost 30 next year... (except he'll still have about four or five years left in the tank since he's been splitting time with Stew)... which means he'd be a great option to trade away, unfortunately.
