I'm still a John Fox Guy. What is wrong with me.

I still think he is a very good head coach and would like for him too stay.

Here are some of my reason.

1. This team won't quit on him they always seem too fight for Foxx.

2. I blame this on jerry he seem like he is setting Fox up to Fail and doesn't care how it hurts the future of his team.

3. The coaches before Fox made major blunders. Dom trading 2 1st round for gilbert. George S gave Jeff Lewis the staring job and got rid of fan favorite Stevie B before the season. Both cost the team a few bad years in a row.

Fox has yet to make those kind of mistake.

4. Jerry again is going at this season all wrong. If you have a coach that is not going too be here why have him coach the youngest team in the leauge. What happen is you fire Fox. You set your teamback 2 or 3 years because they have too learn a new system and what the new coaches want too.

It is what it is.......

If you ever hear him speak he says the phrase "you know" before every other word

He chews more gum than manly possible

Everything is day to day

Average is week to week

His favorite play is either a draw or run up the middle

He would punt on 3rd down if he could

How can you not love the guy...

I think you're right in that a lot of this falls on Jerry. Fox is a good coach as long as he has the right components in place--namely, a strong defense and a good running game. Defense has been playing pretty well but the running game needs to pick it up significantly and keep our defense off the field a little bit. Still can't understand why the O-line is playing so badly this year.

Ive said it a couple times, Fox is taking this one on the chin(although he is getting paid handsomely to do so). I think he would have been let go after last season if Jerry didnt have his mind set on the status of 11. I like Fox, and appreciate what he has done here and wish him the best.

You guys can pick on his one liners all you want, but the truth is, he is a players coach, will never call a player out(tho this can sometimes get guys motivated), his players play for him, we will not give up this year and are far from the worse team in the league. Sorry if he isn't Rex Ryan the media fairy, most coaches aren't and Fox is one of the most respected coaches among the coaches and he cares more about that than what most of us no-football bitch-ass fans say about him.

I just don't think Fox's style of playing not to lose, trying to keep it close, and running 80% of the time just doesn't work anymore. It's a passing league whether he likes it or not.

I disagree.

Ask Phillip Rivers how well being the NFL's most productive pass has helped his team win.

the sooner you get over him the easier the break up will be. Just pretend hes already gone to prepare

I still think Fox is a good coach but i'm not going too have a fit when he leaves. I'm more mad about the fact that he is still here. If it's a far gone conclusion that he is gone after the season why even let him coach this team? Why not just let him go and get the new coach in place in this lost season so the team is not learning a new system next year. So Jerry being cheap my have gotton us 2 years of losing football. Maybe 3. If he didn't plan too spend this year why not have the team learning a new system now and be ready for next year when hopfully he doesn't put the league before his own fans.

Well the team has been gutted this year and not built back, so the thought probably is to play it out, see who still plays hard this year and start next year with a solid core to build inside out from.

    • No matter what we still need a QB2 with potential to be a QB1. Keep throwing QBs at the wall until we find someone who sticks.
    • Lot of different agendas dictating opinions.  I don’t think it was the best use of money with Hunt, specifically, but the concept of OL, I am a fan. I didn’t complain a ton because I am a believer in winning up front, on both sides of the ball. I’d rather have stout fronts than fancy WRs. I have complained some about Hunt not being worth his deal, after seeing him get pushed around in a game or two. It’s no crusade. And have complained in the context of shorting the defense.   They have leveled out the FA imbalance with the dual big signings this offseason, and it has always been the draft picks I am most protective of. Anyway The picks are the real imbalance. If you did a trade chart value of the picks we directly gave up for Bryce, and added the support picks invested for skill players, and put that on one side… then put the little 3 3rd rounders and a 2nd that the defense got over three years on the other it would be hugely out of balance. I just want the balance restored. Defense is still owed.
    • I'm one of the ones that won't let it go because it didn't solve the problem. We didn't address the center position which was a huge mistake. We were in position to easily take 2 or the top IOL. Instead of drafting JPJ over XL or Frazier over Brooks, we relied on an oft injured guard to center conversion and lo and behold, it failed as predicted. XL looks like a 1 year college wonder and an injured Brooks hasn't even surpassed Eric Shelton.  Bryce was also benched for poor performance, so the issue that many claimed was solely bad oline play wasn't. It didn't fix him bailing out of tight pockets because of being unable to see the field or him refusing to work on his atrocious footwork. Then there's the $$$. Lewis got a good guard payday. Hunt got a tackle payday. Pay tackles, draft guards, if you can.  I have no issues addressing problems through FA. It was not addressing C at all that's been the issue and still has been. Ryan Kalil was the anchor of our offensive line. We had years of solid center play and it showed. Now we're still piecemealing the center position with an expensive oline and it's still a shitshow. Why? Because the player responsible for what happens on the line presnap has little to no experience doing it. We did acquire a FA center this year finally. We'll see how much that impacts the line.  Spending on a center, whether it be through draft or FA is not bad. It's not a position that can have anyone just thrown in with no drop off in performance. A great center lifts the play of the guards on each side.  I don't like how we've built the line because we've ignored the hinge pin that everyone counts on every play. And the reality of the situation is, it didn't solve the actual problems with Bryce because those have nothing to do with the oline.
