Let's say for once we stop cooking up this crackpot idea and we move on with what we have. I sometimes feel the NC State fan (sorry I'm generalizing) aspect of our fanbase continues to creep up with the Get rid of Jake and Bring in Cowher crowd that makes us look silly.

John Fox is a our damn coach. Move on until further notice.

Jesus.

Cowher is not that good of a coach and I could care less if he comes here. He had a decent record but he lost a lot of big games before winning the SB.

Cowher -in his 15 years- won 8 division titles, 10 playoff berths 6 AFC Championship appearances, and apppeared in 2 Superbowls. That means he lost a lot of big games.

Yes he won a Superbowl in which the officiating was terrible and they were given that game over Seattle.

I have a die hard Pittsburgh fan from Pittsburgh that said Cowher is not that good of a X's and O's coach.

The nfl is changing and look at what the Rookie coaches have done in Miami, Atlanta, and Baltimore. I think we should be more forward thinking instead have hoping Cowher comes in and saves us.

lets say we got Cowher.......

and he lost in the playoffs for 6 straight seasons. Then backed that up with 7-9, 6-10, 9-7 seasons all with no playoffs.

At what point would you fire Cowher?

Losing in the playoffs for 6 straight seasons is better than losing in the playoffs every other season, or every third season.

At what point should we fire Fox?

Point is...Steelers believed in Cowher. Just like I believe in Fox. As far as your counter point. Nothing is a better option when both result in a loss. Hurney and Fox have been too impressive in the offseason and if you add that with being competitive year in and out. I believe Fox will stay our head coach for a long time.

Actually making it to the playoffs is better than NOT.

To think otherwise is just plain ignorant.

Tell me when Fox makes it to 6 straight post-seasons, THEREFORE having 6 good regular seasons in a row.

Maybe you like being "competitive"(and in panthers terms that means 7-9), but us sane individuals would rather have SUCCESS over simply being "competitive".

Not to mention using that word is the first sign that your really not doing sh*t.

Competitive, please, that's NFL terminology for being everyone else s bitch.

    • no doubt but flip that.   The current system insures that there are "regional" games in the early weeks. maximizing the reach of playoff football.  If all of the WC weekend for a conference took place on the west coast they are reducing the "reach" of their hype machine.
    • Hard to say with London--he never ran--combine or pro day.  Here is what AI says, and it is always 100% accurate: Drake London's 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine was not recorded because he was dealing with a fractured ankle at the time. While he didn't participate in the 40 at the Combine or his pro day, his coach said his 40 time was estimated to be between 4.4 and 4.53 seconds. Some sources also list his 40 time at 4.58 and 4.6 seconds Unless you are running 9s all day, top end 40 speed is rarely reached.  I have always looked at the 3-cone drill.  At his pro day, TMac ran a 6.86--pretty good, actually.  For context, it is faster that Rome Odunze (6.88) who ran a 4.45 40.  Odunze is 6'3" and weighs 216, fwiw, and is considered a very good route runner with no wasted motion.  Mike Evans 3-cone was 7.08.  To put it in a broader context, through 2022, with all NFL prospect 3-cone drills combined, a 6.86 puts TMac in the.89th percentile-  Now consider the fact that he is 6'4" and 220.   We might have something here.  '
