Plasma TV Problem

So, I've had a 50-inch plasma TV since August of 2007. I have had absolutely no problems with it at all. Now, all of a sudden, whenever I try to power it up after it's been off for a while it doesn't work. It clicks on for a second, and immediately turns off. It started only doing this once or twice, and then it would turn on fine. Now it has gotten to the point where it's 30+ times of clicking on before it stays powered on. Any suggestions?

Get a new TV? Sounds like a possible power supply problem. I had a similar problem with a computer and got the power supply replaced and that fixed it. But I'm guessing at a TV problem.

I hate to say this, but it's it's not covered by a warranty, might be cheaper to buy a new one.

I got a 65" DLP Hi-Def 3D ready TV for 1/2 price and they threw in the stand and shipping for free!

Power supply in computer is way different than a TV

sportstalk -if you bought a Mits DLP, all of them are 3D ready...

DM97 -Unless you know someone who fixes electronics, youre going to have to pay to get a resolve. Is it a major brand? Bring it to an Authorized Service Center and get an estimate, prol'ly going to cost you $40 just for that. A bad power supply shouldnt be too painful, but I dont fix TVs. If you can get it fixed for $400 then thats alot cheaper than buying a new one. I say $400 'cause I just had an LCD that wouldnt turn on, thats what it took to fix it...

Yea, it's a major brand. I just didn't want to hear about how great or horrible this brand is. Hindsight I shouldn't have said plasma either, but I figured it'd get asked eventually. I appreciate the help. I figured it was something with the power supply. I'll look for someone who can fix it.
