Asomugha to get franchised AGAIN

The Raiders will "almost certainly" place the franchise tag on Nnamdi Asomugha again this offseason.

Asomugha wants a fresh start, but he isn't leaving Oakland barring a trade. If the Raiders were smart they would've given DeAngelo Hall's contract to Asomugha last year. Instead, he'll cost about $12M against their 2009 cap.

Peppers to Oakland?

Hah if Pep would agree to a trade to Oakland for Asomugha I would hope that Hurney would have him on the plane tomorrow...

I'd make that trade.

No offense to Pep. He rocks. But we don't want him if he doesn't want us. Nnamdi is a freak too. And a younger one.

Peppers doesn't have to agree to anything.

He does if the team wants a long-term deal in place before the trade is made...they wouldn't trade their best player if the player they were trading for wouldn't sign a long-term deal. Don't get me wrong I would be ecstatic to have Asomugha lining up opposite of Gamble but I don't see if happening.

Yeah the Raiders screwed up giving Hall all that dough, but they are the Raiders and love screwing up.

Than wouldn't Asomugha have to agree to a long term deal with us?

As far as I know the contract negotiating would come after the trade, and knowing how impulsive Al Davis is he would probably leap at the opportunity.

    • Hurney 2.0 and Fitts were so bad I don't know if it was intentional or they were that abysmally clueless. Fittershits panicked repeatedly being on the back end of positional runs while Hurney couldn't evaluate anyone outside of the 1st.  I can't figure out why Plummer still has a jersey. There's no reason. Dalton brings nothing to the table. If another QB gets cut that has given a glimmer of anything better than what we have, we should look, and that goes for every position.  I cant get over how much different this team could have been with a competent GM and having accepted the Rams offer for Burns. This franchise could have gone in a totally different direction.
    • I thought tanking wasn't actually a thing and we were firmly against it though?
    • I think they are watching to see who’s going to be available before they make theirs official. Probably working trades too. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t cut anyone today.
