venting in progress...

I said before the deadline we should work out an extension or trade him. You do NOT want to let him hit FA and then have to outbid other teams. Also, if you had contract talks before the deadline you could gauge what he wanted money wise and still trade him if it was obvious he was going to be too expensive. Seriously, what the f**k has the FO been doing? This is one of your best players and your just gonna kinda wait and see what happens.

If we franchise him, then that's just another Peppers situation and who the f**k wants that. And hell the new CBA may remove the franchise tag completely, so that may not even be an option.

And the FO had multiple calls from teams wanting to trade for him and wouldn't even hear out offers but yet they're not working out a contract either? At least before the deadline you had options, now you're faced with the possibility of DWill walking and getting nothing and seriously, why the f**k would he want to resign here? Just cause he likes the pretty trees in Charlotte so much?

Between Peppers, trading away high future picks every year and now this mess, the FO is quickly destroying any faith I had in them.

venting now over...

    • The team signed undrafted rookie JJ Weaver from Kentucky. The 25-year-old Weaver played six seasons in college (with injury waivers), and had 21.5 sacks. He was a three-time team captain for the Wildcats. To make room for him on the roster, the Panthers released outside linebacker Amare Barno. Barno, a sixth-round pick in 2022, tore his ACL late in the 2023 season and began last year on the physically unable to perform list. He had 3.0 sacks in three seasons, appearing in 29 games. Sad to see. He seemed to have a lot of potential when he was drafted. Injuries really derailed him though.
    • Ok so how does this make sense for Blake?  Honestly I like it for us.  I’m really high on Blake’s future like I’m sure the Canes FO is.  If he continues along the path he’s on, we’ll have a top 6 forward on a KK contract.
    • Barno out   JJ Weaver on I really liked Weaver his last two years at Kentucky. Don't expect him to make the roster, but a decent camp body nonetheless.
