That pretty much sums it up. Although you got to wonder... Will the next HC have any freedom in making personnel decisions?

The head coach always has a say. How much of one is a question.

More than one scout has said it's best not to leave personnel decisions to coaches because they have a tendency to fall in love with a particular player after a good workout or a great game performance. Scouts are trained to look at the whole picture rather than just the highlight reel.
