Can we cut Richard Marshall

But you also don't cut young talent.

I'm guessing you are referring to my earlier post. I still stand by that, don't cut your young talent.

Who ever said that we HAD to release one of the two? Is this something that I missed?

I think that we should keep both of them as long as it is financially feasible. What is so wrong with having 3 starting caliber CB's? Lucas had a tough year but to cut him, if it was because he was constantly getting screwed by his safety is not smart. If it was his fault, and really only the coaches know, then let him go by all means.

Yeah I know, and at least marshall can play CB and ST. ken lucas on the other hand.

not that i disagree with the marshall over lucas sentiment, but your logic is faulty.

if marshall were the starter, lucas would be playing ST and theoretically have more tackles.

I don't care. Lucas did just as bad on his assignments as Godfrey, and this is Lucas's 8th year.

If you compare Ken Lucas, and Richard Marshall to each other here is what we have

RICHARD MARSHALL- 75 tackles, 4 passes defended, 2 sacks and 1 interception. Richard Marshall was in his 3rd year.

ken lucas- 60 tackles, 10 passes defended, 2 interceptions. ken lucas was in his 8th year.

SIMPLE ANSWER CUT LUCAS!!!

Where are the stats of Marshall costing us the Atlanta game by falling down on 3rd and 11?

Or what about him almost costing us the New Orleans game by giving up 3 touchdowns in the 4th quarter alone?

Dumbass, Lucas doesn't play special teams cause you dont put your starters on special teams.

Homeboy was right you are just a little troll that no body likes and talks down on other people because you think you know whats going on the truth is you don't cut people that can do this.

He intercepted Trent Dilfer and also scored a TD in a preseason game?

Thats really impressive, how has he not made the pro bowl these past 2 seasons?

Marshall will be a free agent in 2010 and apparently thinks he shou;ld get plenty of money. That means for us 2009 is his contract year. If he wants to make that money he has to earn it this year. Lets see what he can do when motivated. And lets see how the new regime uses him. Cut him now? Thats plain stupid. He is cheap and highly motivated to have a break out season. The least we can do is take advantage of the situation and see what happens. He certainly will be worth what we pay him. Totally win -win to keep him. I hope he has a remarkable season and we are in a dilemma about how to pay him. Can't see how anyone who is a Panther fan would want it any other way.
