The Panthers STILL need WR help.

Stand pat

Work both Hackett & Jarrett in more

And for 3 WR's sets

Line up Stewart & Williams in backfield with one splitting out to WR

With both on field at same times would create Defensive problems

If we could actually execute screen plays to any kind of success man that would make my day, and make it a really bad thing for defenses.

I just get the feeling that defenses know that poo isn't going to certain places. Like they don't have to play honest in most situations, because of our tendency to not do certain things.

This to me is one of the biggest mysteries of the 2008 season...Davidson comes from a team in NE who are very good at screens. I wonder how much of it has to do with a totally reshaped OL? The OL has to be perfectly in synch to run a screen well.

Not saying add per se. Need to find one that is dependable both with catching the ball and actually being in the game.

I understand, just being sarcastic per se. I'd love to see us add a quality receiver to our mix, but only after we've addressed a number of other issues and I don't see it possible to do...

Seriously I am not going on a Jake bashing spree here, but he doesn't look comfortable throwing screens. He throws it all weird out there in the flat.

That's what I think. If we can work on that and use them more often, we will move the chains a lot more.

We were going ga-ga when they were practicing screens during TC in 2007 but haven't really seen them since.

I wish we had faster receivers capable of generating separation. No offense to Moose and Jarrett but asking them to run a deep route is like asking Jake to run the ball into the end zone. It looks awkward and just wrong.

I'm of the opinion screens should be used as few times as possible. I know it's college, and a different game, blah, blah, but up here at Clemson all they did was run screens and all it got us was a 3-3 record, one of the worse offenses in the ACC, and Tommy Bowden and the offensive coordinator fired (although the firings were actually happy occasions). I think screens are only useful if the other team has absolutely no idea it's coming, because unfortunately they're very easy to blow up, but likewise effective when executed well AND unexpected.

Well it isn't even just the screen, but the RB check down.

We have cleared out so much space with our regular throws, and I know you all see this too, and our RB is WIDE OPEN.

Jake never sees him, or doesn't throw it. Those check downs have tons of room and our backs are good.
