Is the QB the only thing anyone cares about anymore?

You are taking a very simple minded approach.

Falcons = #1 Seed

Matt Ryan = QB Falcons

Matt Ryan = Elite QB

You need to look more in depth at each game and things of that nature. Turner has been one of the most underappreciated backs in the NFL and when he doesn't get off, Ryan struggles. Someone posted an analysis of this maybe two months ago and when Turner struggled, Ryan's numbers were significantly down.

The most recent example was against New Orleans in their house. They shut Turner down and Ryan had Jimmy Clausen-esque numbers. That's just one example and there are many many more.

It was funny before that game Steve Young and that crew were calling him the next Brady and then after the game they were talking about how important the run game is.

Okay, I'll go into this.

Here are Matt Ryan's season stats directly from NFL.

Touchdowns 28, Picks 9, Passing Yards 3,705, Passer Rating 91.0

Those are the numbers of an elite QB imo. High touchdown to turnover ratio and high passer rating on a very good team with an excellent record. Yes, it really is that simple. Something to keep in mind as well, I don't punish a QB for having a bad or two. Even elite QBs have bad games. Drew Brees and Peyton Manning both had bad games this week, but it doesn't lesser my opinion of them.

The first thread was a rerash of about.. hmm 5 different threads of the course of you being gone. I guess you didn't search to see if any of those topics had been posted durp. Secondly, people care about a QB around here because name one time we had a Franchise QB here. With an average to above average QB, we went deep in the playoffs twice. Not because the Defense was dominating in 2005. Not because we had a running game in 2005. Delhomme, with Smith, single handled threw us into the playoffs in 2005 and Delhomme with Muhammad almost did in 2004 with no running game again. Delhomme was above average, but not a superstar.

BTW, in the Super bowl, Davis had 13 carries for 49 yards. Delhomme went 16/33 for 323 yrds, 3tds and no ints. He carved up the Patriots. That amazing defense had 1 int, 0 sacks, and gave up 32 points. NE had 38:58 TOP as well. Having a decent running game is fine but this same topic come up on NFL TA in a different form when even Warren Sapp said you can have a mediocre defense as long as they are near the top in Scoring and so long as you have an amazing offense. Our defense is good enough. Could the line need shoring up? Sure. However, 60% of a team's success comes from Good QB play. Of the 12 playoff teams, only 3 have average QB's. Sanchez, Cutler, and Seattle.

Put me on the bandwagon. I don't care.

The only one I wouldn't consider top tier (whatever you consider that) is Eli. That Dline won that Superbowl and you know it. You also have to consider that P Manning has choked in the playoffs repeatedly and it was only when they had their amazing defensive run in the post season and ran into Sexy Rexy in the SB that they got their ring.

BB only completed 10 passes in his first SB win, second one was legit.

Brees also relied heavily upon the defense and the ST in the SB to get them the win.

Point is you might remember the QBs name from the SB but those teams didn't win it with QBing alone. Those defenses and run games played an insanely huge role in most of those.

a Good QB makes the rest of the the better. Just imagine Indy or NE without Manning or Brady.

Indy - 1 probowl WR, other young WR's. Not much of a running game. Defensive line doesnt play well against the run so they a lead to look good.

NE - no name WR's, Welker is getting older. NO running game. Defense in transition from older to younger.

so an elite QB with our running game and LB's we should turn around quick.

Actually I did search before I made my thread and there were not any(maybe you should do a search) and just about everyone in there disagreed with you. Most people liked the fact we were discussing something different but I guess you wouldn't know that since you hardly take the time to actually read any replies or post something meaningful and instead are posting to get attention by trying to get personal. I'm not going to bother with your childish attitude.

Matt ryan is no where near Brady, Manning, Brees, thats just laughable

I never said Ryan was on par with Brady, Manning or Brees. I said that he's close to if not in the elite level. IMO he's right in that group right after those three that includes Aaron Rodgers and Philip Rivers. Ben Roethlisberger

would be there for me too if it wasn't for the amount of turnovers he has.

You mean the same Clausen vs Moore bickering for 4 pages that took place more than 4 months ago? I'm glad that is so new and refreshing.

I think a double team commanding DT, QB, OL, and keeping our LB's healthy are all key priorites in the offseason. I would like to see a Vet WR signed though.

I agree but I don't think we can just fix the OL with one person. This line needs some serious looking at, and some heavy changes in how it's performing. I really don't think it's going to be that easy to fix because I expect more injuries and our depth chart is getting really thin there. No way our O-line stays healthy past 5 games, and once we have to start re-shuffling and going down the depth chart, we'll be in trouble once again.

Otah's such a big question mark now for me.

Perhaps that's what you were hoping for, and fortunately that's not at all what that thread was about. Seriously, I'm just going to ignore you from now on if your only intention is to start poo up. You aren't slick.
