We have zero chance of getting vets who want to win, like Bailey, Mankins and Hasselback. Guys like these never come to 2-14 teams. However, Edwards just wants a job, Aso will just want money, and Gaither/Nicks likely will too. We will want to focus on guys who want what we can give. Winning early wont be among them.

Carolina will be the kind of place someone will want to come to in helping build a long time contender.. Rivera should excite free agents a bit.. filling out the position coaches and coordinators will help as well..

of the guys you listed, Mankins is the only one I would want (Hasselbeck would definitely be beneficial though).. and he might want to be apart of that...

I wouldn't write us off unless you actually hear them say no to Carolina..

Someone like Hasselbeck knows he'll never get anywhere staying in Seattle, so if he want to have a shot he needs a change. We aren't your typical 2-14, perennial loser team. We may be able to sell him on being 1-2 players away from making a serious run, with him being one of those.

I was talking to a friend about this Friday night.. he asked me, "if you put a legit QB on the team, what do you get?"

I said a legit chance to go deep in the playoffs..

I feel certain we aren't that far off any FA's radar.

I'll try and be realistic.

1. Marcedes Lewis, TE--complete player, future Pro Bowler

2. Mike Pollack, G/C--is young and can get better, will start at RG

3. Paul Oliver, S--young, familiar with coach, and could challenge Godfrey for starting spot

4. James Jones or Legadu Naanee, WR--will definitely start for us and both have potential to get better.

5. I've been wanting to go after either Cofield or Mebane or both for at least a few months now at DT

6. Cheap depth at both offensive line and DT

7. Not sure about QB, maybe Shaun Hill

Lewis and whichever DT we may sign will cost the most money.

I don't think Asomugha will want to come here over New England or Baltimore and we've been good with finding corners so I would look to the draft for one. Champ Bailey might be a possibility since he's reportedly stated he'd want to move to safety to prolong his career, so he might replace Godfrey as a starter there.

Oh, and if the Redskins let go of Haynesworth and we haven't signed a DT already, fuq it, sign him.

    • This is huge may not be a trap game but this plays a major part in what they want to do. If we can get some pressure on Sam we know what he does with pressure coming hit and heavy. Also we may be able to take the top off their defense a backup safety trying to stop TMac or Cooker over the top or forcing him to play the backend should allow us to run the ball somewhat effectively. Either they allow some runs or we take some shots and if Bryce and whoever can connect deep we’ll be in business for another big time win against a top notch opponent. Might not be a trap game but health travel game plans all play a major role in each weeks game plan and this week might be leaving our way. We’re missing some replaceable pieces they’re missing key anchors to the offense and defense major difference time to solidly ourselves at one of the top teams in the nfc tomorrow fellas buckle up.
    • Yes.  If I am not mistaken, we need to sign Coker to the ERFA tender and insist that XL spends his spring and summer at a WR camp and not Coon huntin on his four wheeler.  XL was raw when we picked him--which is why I wanted to go another direction--and we are seeing how raw.  He is basically learning a position.     The Panthers will make their move in 2026 to be an NFL powerhouse behind Bryce.  Bryce needs intelligent WRs who catch the ball.  That said, we need a solid #2 to challenge XL and make cutting him easy, if necessary.  A #2 WR (intented to be a #1 by now) with under 400 yards is embarrassing.   On offense, you have to ask, "Where can we get better?"  In my view, #2 WR, TE (although they are improving) and maybe C (again, if we re-sign Mays, he is trending up and at 26, entering his prime--I say stay with him and find competition later in the draft (not good for C).  OL depth maybe?  In other words, XL is a glaring weak spot.
