Eagles DC Search

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

PFT has reported that the Eagles had made an offer to make former Saints DB Coach Dennis Allen their new DC. Allen chose instead to join John Fox in Denver.

The Eagles have since come out and said that Allen was never a serious candidate. They said the same thing after Jim Mora pulled out of the derby, but it had previously been reported that Mora was their top choice.

Misinformation, or a case of the girl who got turned down saying "I didn't want to go to the dance with him anyway" :sosp:

Former Eagles DB Coach Dick Jauron, of whom it was originally speculated that Sean McDermott was fired to allow him to take over, left to take the DC job with the Browns. They'll have to replace him too, as well as recently departed LB Coach Bill Shuey.

Andy Reid is recently back from vacation and said to now be heading the search. They won't be doing any interviews at the Senior Bowl this week though because Reid is skipping it (per Philly.com, this is something he does on a regular basis). There are rumored candidates - Mike Trgovac, Winston Moss, Ray Horton, others from the Steelers and Packers staffs - but unless they move quickly, they'll have to wait until after the Super Bowl to interview them.

    • Can't  I'm currently surrounded by parrots 😄 Today's actually a pretty lazy day though. (retirement has its perks)
    • I'm going off what I've read from the Chiefs in the past. They certainly had way better ownership than us (the Hunt family) and neither Reid nor GM Brett Veach is known for being authoritarian. Hell, What reporters were shocked A while back when I asked to read about a personnel situation and he deferred to Veach.  So no, nothing I can say definitively. The one thing I do feel comfortable saying about Tepper in that he's been publicly embarrassed by the team's results. And I genuinely believe that's an effective motivational thing for him.
