Used Car Question

Recommended Posts

So my girlfriend works for a BMW dealership and she can often get some great deals on used cars.

They have a 2003 BMW 325i with a sport package that she can get for around 7,250, which is a couple thousand below blue book.

I've heard in the past though that BMWs often have a lot of maintenance problems and are very expensive to maintain.

This is the carfax for the car: http://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory/p/Report.cfx?partner=DLR_3&vin=WBAEV33453KL80062&zipCode=

Car listing:

Worth buying, or should I pass?

I can't really afford a brand new car, but my Jeep has 228,000 miles on it and I'm looking to replace it.

They have a fully loaded 2004 Nissan Maxima for about the same price with basically the same mileage.

Any recommendations? Should I buy, or not?

Y'all keep saying to use kelly blue book - saw it mentioned in another thread. No dealers I know, or have known, or worked for, have ever used kelly blue book. Either wait for mush or for my hubby to get to work and check black book wholesale prices. Charlottean might could help, if he ever signs on.

a few car dealer friends used to tell me KBB was something the car dealer industry put together to lower the value of cars so they have some room to make money when reselling...

makes sense.. buy low, sell high..

    • I’m an optimist thru and thru. I love any win this team can muster, and Bryce did what he could to keep the team in it, but he’s why the team was out of it to begin with.  I like the guy, but he is not… he’s just not it… and I was swayed by the way he finished last season, but his physical limitations will never be overcome. A one arm tackle stopped him in his tracks en route for 6, among several other plays where an even average starter in the league succeeds.  A franchise QB is supposed to be his own cheat code. Bryce needs a cheat code dude, that is not him, to win. Chuba CARRIED (literally) his ass last season. Thielen bailed him out EVERY game he played in last season. Today: Rico turned in one of the best games in franchise history, Tet was unguardable and put up at least 100 yards on his own (PI yards included),  and the defense basically pitched a shutout after going down big so they could beat one of the worst teams in the NFL.
    • Jimmy came thru today I hope he is active next week   (2) NFL on X: "Bryce Young to Jimmy Horn Jr. on 4th down! MIAvsCAR on FOX/FOX One https://t.co/HkKw7uXVnt https://t.co/FYOfsxtAMk" / X
    • Rico 10000% saved Bryce Young from being benched for the Dallas game.  The way that game was going there was going to be no way to trot Bryce out next week at home if it kept going like it did.  Bryce probably is safe from bench risk until the next home and home presents itself.    He can’t be playing bad going into that next Atl game and then lay an egg in it.
