I'm starting 2 hope Jimmy can prove people wrong.

Clausen is just a "running QB". QBs who barely complete half their passes and scramble out of the pocket any time they feel pressure dont make it in the NFL. Clausen is listed at 6'2-6'3 but everyone I talk to thats been around him or met him this season tells me dude is barely 6'0 and he is NOT a physical specimen at all. Might be why all his passes get batted away at the line of scrimmage and he isnt strong enough to hurl the ball downfield. I think sitting behind a Cam Newton for a few years would help Jimmy out tremendously. Let him re-learn the QB position behind a stud.

Yeah, I mean look at Joe Montana - he was 6'5" and carved out of stone.

Then the people you talk 2 are idiots cause he's every bit 6'2 and Drew Brees Aaron rodgers and Tom Brady aren't Physical specimen either. And if you think anybody sitting behind Cam Next SEASON I have sh*t covered gold 2 sell you.

So Jimmy Clausen is Tom Brady now? He's Rodgers? Those guys would be insulted being compared to a Clausen. Jimmy has a lot of batted balls at the line of scrimmage because he's undersized and isnt as big as he's listed. Explain how a 6'2 QB has so many balls batted away? We might as well put Armanti out there.

By the way, KoolKat where was this thread 2 months ago when you were massaging Andrew Luck's kneecaps? You dont care about Clausen at all, dude means nothing to you. You would throw him away in a heartbeat, hell you were all but ready to. I hope Jimmy can rebound and play well too, but I dont want our PSL holders and true fans to suffer thru another sh*tty season to find out. If Clausen is gonna make it, he's gonna have to work his butt off too. He's gonna have to study harder, play harder, and smarter. The "sense of entitlement" has got to go. If he goes in camp and outshines the competition, he'll get ANOTHER chance, but he's already had his shot and looked worse than a rookie Weinke in the process, so its time we look for an upgrade. 2 wins isnt gonna cut it.

Maybe you should read the 1st post in the thread instead of making a ass of yourself. I said since Luck is staying and all the crap Jimmy has 2 get from people like you I hope he proves you wrong.

I'll explain it, it's called a low release point and it's something that can be fixed.

Clausen is 6'2.5". His height isn't his problem. His throwing motion and release point may be, though. In college he had the occasional batted ball, but it is something he can learn to deal with either through throwing lanes or possibly adjusting release point etc.

Does anyone know if there's a breakdown of his batted balls anywhere? It *seemed* to get better as the year went on (along with his ability to take snaps, lol).

I agree though, you don't go into next season expecting him to do better. If he wins his job, good, otherwise, too bad.

Maybe being a rookie it might take time 2 learn moving in the pocket and using passing lanes. But your right he should have already learn that.

"Since Luck is staying"

so if he wasnt, you'd be one of the main ones here telling us Clausen sucks right? Just like you were before? Just be real with us and yourself, you're a rejected Luck lover looking for answers throwing anything at the wall, hoping it sticks.

"Jimmy Clausen is the most NFL ready QB who played under Charlie Weiss, a former NFL head coach and coordinator"

Its looking more and more like Jimmy's entire scouting report was a lie. Nobody expected the kid to DOMINATE, but is completing passes to WRs to much to ask? Is asking him to grow a pair and stand in the pocket and take a hit to complete a throw downfield too much to ask?

I did say he sucked last year. I said the same thing this whole thread. I wanted Luck because he was the best QB prospect in decades. Since he stayed I don't see any QB in this draft that's clear and away better then Jimmy. I rather give Jimmy another shot with Vet Competition in TC then use the 1st pick on a big risk. Just because your on Cam's nuts so hard you taste his kids doesn't change that fact. Maybe Cam can show he can do the things a Pro QB should do and change my mind. But base on game tape in college I didn't see anything but 1-2 run.

So Clausen's scouting report is a lie but you're certain Cam Newton could walk right in and be successful in a pro-style offense?

If Cam completes half his passes next year and throws 3 times as many INTs as TDs, I'll call his a lie too. If we or another fanbase that drafts him has to throw the entire organization under the bus (from OL, to coach, to WRs, etc) to make him seem like a credible NFL QB, I'll call his a lie too.
