I agree with those who say bring in a vet to start. And we know that Clausen will be here. For me it is whether we go with Pike, Moore or bring in another draft choice if Rivera, Shula don't believe that Clausen or Pike are the future. I don't think the choice is either a vet or a draft choice but definitely bringing in a vet and possibly a draft choice. It really depends on where the front office see Clausen at this point as the llongterm future or not.

We picked Clausen becauuse he was too good to pass up in the secoond round. Now after a year we have some sense of his leadership skills and ability to play Qb. It doesn't mean he won't get better but we now have another choice to make. We can pick any quarterback we want or any player at any position. What we did last year under a different regime is relevant but not definitive. I don't know we will pick another Qb probably not. But I don't think that the Clausen pickup has to rule out picking up Gabbert or Newton unless the FO really thinks that Clausen is the future. If they have serious doubts then they pull the trigger this season instead of waiting another year or two and prolonging the inevitable.
