Found this in a SB Nation story

there something in the water when it comes to Dallas sports? The Cowboys are in a constant state of existential crisis, the Mavericks traded Luka Doncic in exchange for irrelevancy, and now the city’s only playoff bright spot, the Stars, are struggling to work out what’s wrong with their ace player Mikko Rantanen.

Rantanen has been worse than a non-factor in the first two games of the playoffs against the Avalanche, he’s actively hurt them. The wing has yet to register a point, he’s attempted six shots on goal without result, and is a -3 on ice this series. Rantanen also rivals the worst young players on the Stars with an abysmal 39.1% Corsi (which measures 5v5 puck control), and his lacking defense was already a known quantity, but has showed up this series.

What makes this so bad is that Rantanen was supposed to be the missing piece. The star (forgive the pun) who was going to turn Dallas into a potential Stanley Cup champion. Instead it’s feeling a lot more like the clock struck midnight and the Stars got a pumpkin at the worst possible time. Rantanen’s poor play has raised so many questions that the team is trying to justify it in the most labored fashion, saying he’s not used to playing with the team, and “has a lot of distractions” since being traded.

    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
