I did find this, which explains the post-trial process:

Eligibility and Return to the NHL 

  • The National Hockey League (NHL)
    announced on September 11, 2025, that the players were eligible to return to play.
  • They are now unrestricted free agents,
    and their contracts can be registered with the NHL starting October 15, 2025.
  • The players can begin conditioning
    with teams on November 15 and play their first games starting December 1, 2025.
