I dont see how we can franchise peppers

I'm leaning towards the gamble bonus deal not being included on the site that was posted. I'd say after the gamble deal we'll probably have around 26 million or so. enough to sign Gross and Franchise Peppers before FA and get a trade done so we can sign some FA.

Depends on what our cap space is right now. Some figures put it at 15 million before Gamble, other have put it at 9 or 10. Part of that is the cap numbers may not have been reduced by incentives likely to be earned. they would include incentive money for pro bowl appearances by Pep, Beason, Gross and Smith as well as any players with incentives for making the playoffs, etc.

But in any case it will likely be at least 18 million. We can reach another 8 or 10 million if we need to as well with some restructuring and extensions and cuts.

Nope, there are certain dates that teams have to be under the cap by, The first of which is this month I believe February 27th. On that matter we would still have to have the cap room, because the league would have to approve the move and wouldn't do so with us over the cap.

Oops. I guess I was wrong. I was not sure, but I thought I had heard of teams being over the cap all the way till just before preseason. I thought that was the reason for that last bit of cuts that come just before the season. Oh well, this sh*t is so confusing. Thats why I am not an NFL GM. Tough f'n job!

    • D Carr must have really disliked the saints to wait and do this announcement after the draft has passed if he made this call a few weeks before the draft sure they would have approached it and the offseason differently.  oh well will be interesting to see how their qbs perform.  would love to see them roll with Thill and just make the whole offense towards his skillset.  Although sadly would be only playing in about half the games with how often he gets injured.
    • I have to say it's quite fascinating seeing you pivot from months and months of wailing and agonizing about threads derailing into Bryce Young slingfests only for you to turn around and do the same thing. And just for the record. Nobody in life ever attained wisdom and clarity from mistakes by having people blindly fawn over them and tell them they are above reproach and incapable of making mistakes. Our front office is just as human as we are. And based on the fact that front offices across the league outside of a handful of teams change on a fairly regular basis it's safe to say they are certainly no more infallible than the average Joe even though they possess significantly more knowledge usually. If you want a utopia where all you do is shine shoes for anyone associated with the Panthers you go right on ahead and create yourself a new community sir. More power to you.
    • I trust Morgan when it comes to LBs so I think Wallace will do well.
