The Bucs fan base has become delusional the last 5 or so years. I read for an hour this morning on message boards and X how they think they are going to A) Fire Bowles and ride an interim into the playoffs B) Fire Bowles at the end of the season and get Mike Tomlin C) Get Harbaugh from Baltimore and many other crazy theories that involve trading Baker for future HoF QBs at little to no cost.

Living in the basement for 18 years and then having sudden success with Arians and Brady really messed with their psyche.

OK, let's analyze this:

Tampa Bay's last 5 games (including losses vs. New Orleans and Atlanta) November and December games:  1-5.  The only win was a 3-point win vs. Arizona.

Key games:  Of course, if Carolina beats New Orleans Sunday, the Panthers are a game up with Seattle, and 2 vs. the Bucs.

DECEMBER 21 is probably a "must win" for the Panthers vs. Tampa Bay, assuming the Panthers beat the Saints. If they lose to New Orleans, they are long shots. The Panthers are at home and are 4-2 there-with a stupid loss to New Orleans.  A win could put the Panthers up 2 games with 2 to play.

DECEMBER 28 is a huge date.  The Bucs have Miami on the road and are home for the finale vs the Panthers.  Miami has won 4 straight.  The Panthers play Seattle at home.  Seattle is 10-3 and 6-1 on the road. If the Panthers win, the Tampa games allows us to rest our starters.  Imagine that.

If we beat NO and beat Tampa on the 21st, that’s it. No 2 up with 2 games to go, we are done. The loss to Atlanta and a win at NO means that if we split with Tampa, we get the tiebreaker with a better division record. That’s why we have to beat NO. We do that and we have a home game to clinch the division.

    • Does this mean only topics from within the last year or any topics with posts from the last year? i.e. if there are any old threads we feel should be kept around for whatever reasons, would a bump of that thread before the update ensure it's kept around in full or do the posts from more than a year old still disappear?
    • I'm more intrigued at him becoming our future LG. There were some people who thought he was better suited to be a guard in the NFL to begin with.  Then if Freeling ends up being a legit LT, moving Ickey to LG could give us an incredibly strong left side of our OL for years to come. Ickey has only played on the Left side his whole career, both in college and the NFL, so I just wonder if keeping him on the left side, even if shifting inside, would be better than putting him outside on the right side. Just hoping him growing up a Panthers fan will make him want to stay here and move positions than enter FA so he can stay at LT somewhere else, particularly since LT is the big money position on the OL, so he likely can get paid more by someone else to play LT than play LG or RT here for us.
