Accusations

Luchs makes an accusation, Kiper denies. Obviously Kiper is lying. Am I missing something?

All they asked for was a quote. Of course they will say that of course Kiper didn't do anything wrong just like they will say that Cam didn't know what his dad was doing or that A Rod didn't know he was taking steroids.

Since the NCAA isn't investigating, it's not going to be proven either way, so everyone just has to make up their own mind...

Gary also used his contacts in the media to help him recruit. In 2000, before a meeting with Stanford defensive lineman Willie Howard, Gary arranged for ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper to call. Gary and I were talking to Willie in Gary's office when Gary's phone rang, and he put it on speakerphone.

"Viper, how are you?" Gary said. That's what he called Mel, Viper or Vipe. "Viper, I'm sitting here with the best defensive lineman in college football. Do you know who that is?"

"You must be with Willie Howard," Mel said.

Gary used Mel like that all the time. In the agent business, people know Gary and Mel are close, and some people suspect that Mel ranks players more favorably if they are Gary's clients

Where does it say anything about money?

Not that you will ever believe this but I've stated it in threads before about Kiper, I know with 100% certainty that Kiper has moved someone off his "Top 5 Position" board because their agent refused to pay him.

I'm not as removed from football offices as you guys might think.

Then why are you arguing with people on a damn message board all day. Shouldn't you be out scouting for somebody?

The fact that he is most likely a cheater does not bother me a bit. I could care less. College Football is dirty and has been for a long time.

He just scares the poo out of me when I think of him extending the play over and over and getting broken up thinking he can run over people like he did in the SEC. Too big of a risk IMO. The money has nothing to do with nothing. He is a cheater and that is OK with me if its OK with him.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
