Panthers not high on Gabbert

Recommended Posts

A league source tells SI.com's Don Banks that Carolina "doesn't really love"

Mizzou QB Blaine Gabbert enough to select him at No. 1 overall.

The Panthers reportedly question Gabbert's accuracy outside and deep down the field. Gabbert's numbers on those throws were significantly lower than Cam Newton's. We haven't seen Gabbert throw yet, so his draft momentum hinges on his March 17 Pro Day performance.

Finally, some good news!

Although I expect a reason for that is he didn't work out at the combine and he hasn't had his pro day yet. However given Rivera stresses that actual game film is the most important factor when evaluating players, a good pro day might not change it.
