Omar Kelly: Panthers Willing to Outbid Any Offer for DWill

D-Will is smart, he knows a 50/50 committee w/ Stew is best for his longevity. He seems to have a personality that fits the carolinas as well, not selfish and a great role model. I also think he has a legit freindship w/ Stew and would take a small paycut to stay around.

we could probably extend his career 2-3 years by remaining in a full time committee situation vs. going somewhere and being a workhorse for another 2-3 seasons and being done. translates to more money, and the better oppurtunity to win a championship.

lets hope he comes reasonable, and is used in his best capacity next year! (and stays healthy)

Exactly, but by the time they put DWill on IR, the overall success of the season had already been determined, and if Fox came to the conclusion that it might be a struggle to win games, even with DWill in the line up, then building a pool of excuses would have been in his best interest. Putting Dwill on IR for example.

only problem is Carolina has the best duo in the NFL.....so when Williams goes to IR Fox isn't handicapped.

Fox is Fox. He coaches the same and believes in his system.

I think the one problem Fox really had is he was given Moore/Clausen. Clausen couldn't hack and there is little to suggest Fox liked Moore. I think if Fox was given the young team and was allowed to bring in a legit scrub vet....he could have gotten to 7 wins w/ his roster last year.

There is a reason Hurney brought in BSP and Null late...warm bodies that Fox wouldn't be able to insert over Clausen. You know Fox wanted a vet on that roster before the first snap was taken....

    • Lil Stanky 100% in the dot tonight... And our 2nd line has been our best offensive line this season. Maybe our 2C really was on the roster this whole time...?
    • That’s a grade I kind of expected tbh. I’m not a huge fan of NS, but he’s not as bad as what the huddle says he is minus the horrible game he had vs the Rams. I’ve always thought he’s often used as a scapegoat. The improved pass rush should hide his deficiencies a little bit better if he’s the game one starter. FS might have to be a position we punt on this year unless Thieneman falls to us at 19. The reality is, you're going to have a few average players in certain spots for a team with as many holes we had before free agency started. You can’t sign everyone.
    • I am by no means trying to say he's a world beater. I'm saying it's trending in the right direction. Especially when measured against himself.i think the team feel the same way or else they wouldn't have picked up his option. Plus I think there is a new idea in the NFL about these young QBs. Teams give up to soon. Browns gave up to soon on baker same with the jets on Geno and darnold. Maybe they are who you thought they were in the draft process and they need more time to develop than you originally planned. Either way. I do think he is as capable as darnold is as far as you can win a championship with him. And something he does have that darnold doesn't is he is clutch.  If I need one more drive and 2 mins to go I'm betting on Bryce and I am far from a homer, just going off his game winning drives. He has that dog in him on the last drive.
