Blaine Gabbert: Some coaches put off by Gabbert Blaine Gabbert

My post was a direct response to MadHatter, its very telling that YOU took it personal and seek to throw "everybody" under the bus. You guys cant go 2 sentences talking about a black QB without mentioning some form of intelligence or character or finding some superficial way to separate them from white QBs or how "you dont want them". Every single one.

So... do i get double the money if youre the first person to associate being athletic with being black in the conversation?

So... most black quarterbacks are runners... really? most white running quarterbacks suck... hmmm... instead of holding to or fighting stereo types, maybe we should just accept them as exactly that. stereo types. I don't care what color quarterback we have as long as 1. he's good enough so that we can win a superbowl. 2. I can hold him up to my kid as a role model. I wouldn't want Cam to be a role model for my kid right now. period. I Wouldn't want Mallett either. Things could change if the people change, but every indication I've read is that cam hasn't changed. I'd take Vick in a heart beat, because I think he's actually changed who he is. I wouldn't mind him being my kid's role model right now.

Long story short... let's evaluate QB play and character and let's forget the whole race issue. Let's not use this forum to try to fight or hold to a stereo type. It exists, but fighting over it just empowers the stereo type. please drop it.

Damn, you guys got all defensive about a joke about Cam, just like I suspected.

He could never be a thug, with that pretty boy smile and handle bar ears, he'd be someone's girlfriend real quick. Plus, thugs have some code of conduct and Cam has never shown he can obey the rules anywhere so I assume he'd have some issues there.

If I had to put a label on him, I'd say Cam is probably a hustler.

    • I'm looking at the schedule and I see a 10+win season easy.  I think Carolina goes undefeated in the division.  I also believe that the Bears, Bengals, Lions, Browns, Steelers are very winnable.  Revenge game with phillips and the eagles could be a win.  Honestly only 2 games I see as chalking up a L to off the bat is the Seahawks and Broncos.
    • I guess so. Don't think I was involved with previous discussions.  Tepper is one of the newest owners in the NFL. Dan is going into his 3rd season as a GM - ever. Dave is going into his 3rd season as a HC - ever. Before becoming a HC, he was an OC/playcaller for one season total. Idzik is about to go into his 1st year as a play caller - ever. WRs are rookies, sophomores and 3rd year guys - though the experienced 3rd year guys are XL and Coker (who has missed a ton of games). TEs are guys going into their 2nd and 3rd seasons, and Tommy Tremble - though Sanders has missed a ton of games. QB has played 3 years. Chuba is an experienced RB, but Brooks and Etienne have taken very little snaps at the position. O-line is more experienced vets with some talent - which is HUGE. Need them to stay healthy. I mean the offense is very young in every aspect except O-line. You see it differently?
